Biography
Growing up, all the children of the dragons who operate a magical nuclear reactor (similar to the one that birthed the Arcanist, though nowhere near its scale) have to play with are spare parts, an assortment of tools, and, if they are lucky, a pool of contaminated coolant. Fortunately, due to their distant relation to the Plague Wastebug subspecies, what levels of radiation that would have killed a normal dragon long ago have little to no effect on them at all. It matters not what paths they eventually choose for themselves, all learn the laws of science and the rules of magic; as for what they decide to do with this knowledge is a question only time will answer. Arthix can't breathe without her mask. She only takes it off before bed--she only requires sleep about twice or thrice a month--when she's submerged in a tank of [REDACTED]. It's surprisingly easy to come by if you have the funds. For all intents and purposes, the features you see carved into the mask's surface are her actual face. No one has actually seen her without it. To avoid questions, Arthix keeps wandering, offering repair services and constructing generators and creating replicas of the nuclear reactor that her parents maintained when she still lived with her home clan. She keeps her letters home short. She tries her best not to make friends. She gives a new name to every dragon that asks for hers. And, bit by bit, Arthix grows accustomed to the loneliness.
