Memories
A Desecrate Story

I wish I could remember.

~Laughter echoed around. I was certain I was laughing too. Grass underneath me, friends surrounding me. An old flower crown on my fur, crafted with meticulous love. It was joyous, it was happy~

Dullness. The poorly-lit room was only illuminated by a single lantern. Hastily scribbling was him, eyes narrow and slitted. He never looked at me. I could barely remember a frown. I tried to speak to him, I really did. The only answer was the quill's scratching.

Would he play with me?

~Life was short, but it was good. Or it used to be good. There were so many lives lost to them: A hatchling consumed by starvation. A matriarch stranded on the beach. A song cut short by fervidness and desperation. They seemed to all be there~

The flashes pulsed back-and-forth. Waves of pain subsiding for a moment, before flooding again. The feeling of many separate pieces forced to function as one. It hurt so much. There had to be a family who would care. Someone who would make the pain stop. There had to be...

Were they ever there?

~Little things did not bother. I had food and water and shelter. I could run around and chase balls. It was all I wanted. There were also all the sparkly orbs. My siblings would love this place. I have such a great friend. Yet those eyes never seem to look at me~

Crack! The sound of shattering glass filled the air. He was walking backwards, eyes wide and a smile quickly transmuting into a frown. It was awful, he was hurting. He collapsed on the ground, shaking and laughing and sobbing. Someone else was there grabbing him and shaking him to no avail. I did not talk. Instead, I ran. I ran as far and far away as I could. It was raining when I stopped. No one else was there. I hope he would get better. I hope he would play with me...

Will it stop hurting?

((Maybe change POV voice to be more naive and childlike. Contrasts with Morrigan well.))
