Welcome to the Court of Duality.
xxxxxx Founded by Queen Ornithaea. She was originally born in another world. After a family member turned on her and banished her from their world, she spent centuries wandering through different dimensions. In Sornieth, she found fae who can shapeshift into dragons. The Court was created by her as a way to harness the faeries' immense power; it would be a great advantage for her as she prepared for her eventual return to her birth world. xxxxxx
xxxxxx As a fae from another world, she lacks the magic to shapeshift and is stuck in her faerie form. Her quick wit and scheming makes up for her lack of powers. xxxxxx

The Court is divided into Seelie and Unseelie, which are further divided into smaller factions. While the Court acts like one big unit, it is constantly at war with itself, Seelie and Unseelie factions meticulously watching the other for signs of weakness.

| Unseelie dwell in the darkness and tend to gather in the ruins of ancient monuments. It is ill advised to wander near dark forests at night since Unseelie rule over the night. Making deals with Unseelie can only lead to calamity. They are cold and ruthless when they have to be, though they share strong bonds with their closest allies. |

| Seelie embrace the light. They are fickle and capricious. While they seem all smiles and comforting words, it is their glitter and glamour that conceals the darkness that lays within. They are quick to anger, but just as easy to forgive. Making deals with Seelie is not recommended. |

The lair houses Trooping Fey and the hibden houses Solitary Fey.

The High Court is headed by the Queen Ornithaea.

They overlook all major decisions and happenings within the Court of Duality and may make questionable decisions in regards to the well-being of the entire Court. There is a very clear split between Seelie and Unseelie, even within the High Court. It is a rare sight to see everyone working together harmoniously.

Comprised of Belladonna, Korsha, Deimos, Atria, Wisp, Carnelion, Shamia, Nebula and Maven. While the High Court is rewarded with the respect and admiration of the people, advisors are often the ones who face the ugly side of things. They have to be flexible and willing to take on odd jobs. Queen Ornithaea is often said to pit them against each other; whether this is for her own amusement or to see who comes out stronger is unknown.

xxxxxx Queen Ornithaea is beautiful and wise. She is the perfect ruler. The epitome of perfection, one could say. If only the Folk of the Court of Duality know who she is.

Some believe she is a trick of the light, a phantom, something parents tell their children. Others believe in the conspiracy theories: Ornithaea is actually the name of a elite squadron of geese who are trying to infiltrate the High Court. Some don't believe in her at all.

Until then, Ornithaea could be anyone. That fey you just yelled at for stepping on your toes? The baker on the street corner who gives away bread to their friends? The cold guard stationed at the border? Any one of them could be her. Take care in the way you conduct yourself around others or you just might end up slighting the Queen.
