Her youthful tendencies include a heavy dose of pranking, carried out in part by her considerable magic prowess and in part by her tiny figure, enabling her to slip in and out of chaos with ease and never get caught. Her mind has matured past that of an actual hatchling but most of her behavior does not reflect this, and she rarely lets on that her mental state has progressed beyond that of a playful child, partially because she knows her physical form will never be able to.

Pearl has tried at length to reverse the effects of her magic upon herself to no avail, not even Aragona or Keiji, both masters of the arcane arts in their own right were able to change the course her magic had set without her own consent. She is forever doomed to stay in this form, and although she secretly wishes to change her fate, she has resigned herself to adopting the mischevious persona of a playful youngster.

She sometimes finds companionship with Charybdis, who is somewhat similarly afflicted even if their situations do differ, but the other hatchling does not seem to bear her same bitterness towards her tiny body, and so Pearl finds their interactions to be somewhat shallow, more or less regarding Charybdis as an actual child. She often finds solace with Verin, using the older spirit's considerable bulk as a hiding place for when she commits her pranks and needs companionship. Verin seems to understand her inner struggle more than most, for he is also in a body that belies his true form, but the fact remains that he did willingly enter his current form and Pearl did not.

She's famous among the clan for perching on clanmates, her tiny size making it easy to make room for her since she really can't take up much space. She remains outwardly cheerful most of the time, even if her true feelings don't reflect that, and she has become a master of outward exuberance by this point, finding that acting as if she is nothing more than a child helps her believe it, even if only briefly.
