Biography

♦ Ebonclaw ♦
♢ Assassin ♢

Fierce • Relentless • Solitary
Ebonclaw is unlike most of her kind, she is solitary and doesn’t care much for the clannish nature of her fellow Eboncrows. When she was old enough, she ran away from her Clan to undergo the Necromancer trials. Perching as close to the Wyrmwound as only few dragons dare, Ebonclaw suffered through the First Trial, beat back the plague from her ravaged body in the Second Trial and passed on and cured the plague from another dragon’s body in the Third Trial. Obviously blessed by the Plaguemother, she earned the title of Necromancer.

NECROMANTIC DETAILS
195.png Nature-Born Unsurprisingly, nature-born specialize in plant-based diseases, though that is not the extent of their power. They can also turn a victim’s immune system against itself, resulting in severe allergic reactions and leaving them susceptible to other plagues and infections. Nature Necromancers are skilled in getting the body to draw on its natural reserves to heal itself, and in curing reproductive and genetic diseases.
Necromancer Serving triple roles as advisors, infectionists, and priests, Necromancers are regarded as aspects of the Plaguebringer's Will personified. To have one serve a clan is recognized as a great honor and a sign of Her favor. True Necromancers can infect with a touch, as well as pull disease from the body at will. plagueb1.png
Vial of Scattersight Uncommon Eyes Dragons with uncommon eyes tend to be open and easily influenced by the magical energies in their environment. Magic casters find that they have a wealth of power at their disposal if their surroundings match their element, but they can also be severely limited in lands that are foreign to their birth place.
Blades A symbol of purification, nobility, transition, protection, aggression, strength, and ability. Necromancers bearing blades can be expected to take on a more active role in their clan. They wield their powers of contagion on the battlefield and in defense of their allies. Often they represent Plaguebringer's desire to conquer and expand and they will urge their clan leaders to push Her plague into new territories.
Ravenskull Broadsword
Ferberus Eris The three-headed cat came to Ebonclaw before she undertook the Necromancer Trials. He doesn’t speak but his intelligence is far greater than that of a normal cat – if one could call a three-headed monstrosity normal. There is a strong bond between him and his master, allowing Eris to sense Ebonclaws feelings and intentions.

NOTES
• Only few recognize her as what she is, a Necromancer and an Eboncrow. She prefers it this way, never openly displaying any of her powers.
• Sometimes Ebonclaw receives an assignment from Antafes, First Warden and mate to the Clan’s matriarch, himself. Needless to say that those are always very dangerous, challenging and secret endeavors. But Ebonclaw loves the thrill. And she has never failed his trust yet.
• Ebonclaw’s relationships with the other Crows in her Clan is ambiguous. They of course know what she is but respect her privacy. She feels drawn to them, probably a remnant of her clannish Eboncrow nature, and at times it is hard for her to keep her distance. So she watches from the shadows, keeping an eye on them should they try anything to harm her but also keeping them safe should they get in any trouble.

RELATIONSHIPS

Narishma
Ebonclaw has no desire to exert her superiority over anyone who failed the Plaguebringer’s Trials. She isn’t sure if the Necroservus knows her to be a true Necromancer but whenever they meet, his eyes are gleaming with barely contained hatred. Of course, the bulky Guardian could never be a true threat to her and her superior abilities but his death would raise too many questions. And then there are always the Oaths she swore, Ebonclaw has no intention to find out whether she is only bound by honor to keep them or…something else.
58404942p.png
60135035p.png Sja-Anat
The Jackdaw belongs to the Scouts, often roaming the Shrieking Wilds. Ebonclaw harbors no resentment against her lesser cousins, especially not one so skilled and hardy as Sja-Anat. She tried to follow her once, but she lost the Jackdaw in the woods. Ebonclaw values capability more than bloodlines and she even shares a drink with Sja-Anat once in a while. The Jackdaw was wary at first but became more trusting when she realized the companionship was without any ulterior motives.
Styx
Styx is another of the Clan’s assassins though mostly hired more officially through the Council of Elders. Ebonclaw has always been fascinated by the Pearlcatcher and her more insidious approach on assassinations. The water she carries in her belly is poisonous and deadly. Odor- and tasteless, it kills without a trace, without pain. Much more bloodless than her own often rather messy methods. But there is a pain and sadness in Styx’ eyes that show all too clearly that she isn’t cut out for this life. Ebonclaw has never been a very compassionate dragon, compassion is hindering at best and deadly at worst for someone of her profession. And yet looking into Styx’ haunted eyes pains her more than it should. Whenever possible she volunteers to undertake a task originally intended for Styx. One more death means nothing to her, but every life taken weighs heavily on the Pearlcatcher’s soul.
