"Reach not for a place above your station, for the fall from grace is a painful one." |
xx | From a very young age Anax always had an insatiable hunger for knowledge. He practically taught himself to read, at a much younger age than many hatchlings would have been able to. Always quiet and observant, other dragons found him rather off-putting and his peers shunned him, but he hardly minded. He didn't have time for friends and playing when there were ancient tomes to devour and tales to be heard from the elders. As an adult, Anax spent his time buried in libraries translating ancient texts, and occasionally roamed the world on the hunt for lost knowledge. When he discovered the remnants of an ancient, extinct beastclan and translated their written language, Anax ascended to godhood. |
xx | Anax didn't let his newfound godhood change his love of learning, and instead used his new abilities and powers to further explore the world for ancient truths and forgotten tales. Impressed with his tireless devotion to seeking out more knowledge, the Highest Council of the Gods soon offered him a spot among them. He accepted, and quickly rose to notoriety among the Heavens. Alongside the Council, Anax now had the power to help oversee the gods, settling disputes and enforcing the rules that the Emperor God decreed. Then he met Icarus, a gracious god with a silver tongue. For a time, the two were something of friends, but as Icarus began his slow descent into greed, he firmly lashed Anax to his side by convincing the Nocturne that everything he did was for great purpose. Anax used his power and influence to cover up Icarus' wrongdoings, keeping him out of the Highest Council's gaze. |
xx |
When Icarus' selfishness and cruelty came to light, the Highest Council gathered to decide his fate and cast him out, stripping him of his godhood and sending him back to the mortal realm as a hatchling. His accomplices and supporters were cast out as well, and with the Highest Council's dedication to truth, it didn't take long for Anax's position to be discovered. He, too, was stripped of his ranking and fell back to the mortal realm once more. Disgusted with his once-fellow gods' actions, Anax sought out Icarus, using his unique knowledge of the now-hatchling's fate to his advantage. Despite that, Anax wasn't the first to find Icarus, but that didn't stop him from pledging his loyalty to the child-king in Icarus' quest to shake the Heavens and win their godhoods back. |

「 extras 」 » Anax is very softspoken and blunt, his words having little to no infliction or emotion. » He cares little for other dragons, finding their emotion to be unnecessary and draining. |
