Biography

Fodder rescue, pre-named, XXY, Thundercrack Carnival avatar Dragon

Mate: None; isn't interested

Growing up in the harsh, volatile lands of the Stormcatcher, Levin was used to scavenging and fighting to survive day-to-day. Her Spiral father Smell was a quiet hermit of a mystic that seldom left his hut and her Pearlcatcher mother Feet was a self-taught engineer who specialized in constructing golems along with other mechs and robots. Since she could walk, Levin could be found in her mother's workshop, often playing with bits of scrap metal, old circuit boards, and non-live wires (she especially found Coppercoil Segments amusing- and still does!). Seeing her first daughter's blossoming love for engineering and her driven work ethic, Feet constructed and programmed a Clattercog Engineer to aid Levin with her crude builds and gifted the golem to her daughter when Levin was a month old.

Once Levin reached the age of two months, Feet decided that her hatchling was old enough to become her apprentice. For four months, Levin worked alongside her mother without a hitch; besides accidently re-activating several small, de-commissioned golems via her innate lightning magic on several different occasions while trying to scavenge them for spare parts. Thankfully, a forceful bop on the errant golems' heads with a wrench was enough to de-activate them.

Disaster struck when Levin ventured to the Plague lands with her mother in order to gather some of the local minerals and metals for some experimental golem parts. She travelled too close along the Wyrmwound's crater and when she stepped on a loose chunk of earth, she slipped and fell in as her mother- too far away to do anything- looked on and screeched loudly in horror. Instead of mutating her beyond recognition, the Wyrmwound liquid melted a large part of the young Pearlcatcher's body before some nearby locals rushed over and pulled her out. Unfortunately, Levin was unresponsive to any sort of external stimuli and had to be carried to the nearest clan for a full assessment. Her wing webbing had been completely melted off, as had her face, horn, limbs, and the entirety of the upper half of her body and yet, she was still alive; though barely. Determined not to let her daughter die, Feet went to work on constructing a new body for her beloved daughter out of copper, bronze, rubies, gold, and various tubes, hoses, and wires. Levin's delicate re-construction took Feet two years and with a careful apllication of electricity from Feet to Levin's pearl (which had been set in the now half-mech's chest), the young Pearlcatcher was revived.

As Feet cried with relief and happiness, the newly-revived Levin looked on, clearly confused. Why was this strange Dragon in front of her crying? Why did her limbs feel strange? Where was her pearl? What was that wierd golem doing by her side? Why did her wings and body feel so much heavier than they did before? After Levin voiced her questions, Feet sighed sadly, re-introduced herself, and explained everything that had happened up until Levin's revival. Of course, Levin was grateful for her mother's love and dedication.

Once Levin was able to fully control her new body, the pair decided to leave the trauma of the Plague lands behind in order for some place a little more... cheerful; the lands of the Lightweaver, where they settled in with a decently-sized clan within the Emporer's Wake. Levin spent a lot of time in her new clan's Circuitry area, respectfully studying the strange dragons that dwelled there (she found Spectral to be the most fascinating of the bunch).

Interestingly enough, due to her largely metal body and electrical componets, the beastclans apparently don’t consider her to be a “true, living Dragon”; and thus, not an enemy. Levin has used these new relationships to her advantage; having set up a trade route throughout the lands of the Lightweaver (particularly in her and her mother's new home in the Emporer's Wake) between the local Dragon and beastclan natives; offering her goods and mechanical knowledge to anyone who had the treasure or gems. Having done mechanical work all throughout her new homeland at this point, word of her fine golem-building skills reached the court of King Synali and Queen Aerinite of Norwal. Intrigued, the king sent a summons for the half-mech, lightning-blessed Pearlcatcher.

Levin- however- was not going to answer the summons easily. Synali ended up having to (very quietly) bribe the half-mech to even appear before him and his queen. Once before the Royal Pair, Levin didn’t bother with bowing before them. Instead, her head remained a over her shoulders; her common lightning eyes shining proudly and almost… challengingly at the king’s faceted wind eyes. There was an equally defiant smirk across her face as she then took the liberty of sitting herself right in the middle of the Royal Courtroom. There were several appalled gasps amongst the gathered Dragons before an angry male voice shouted out:

“Who are you to defy Royalty?! Kneel, wanderer!”

Some hisses of agreement floated into the air, only to be silenced by Synali flaring his feathery crests.

“Now that I’m here.” Levin mused cooly as she remained sitting. “What do you need from me?”

“No one told you to speak, half-mech.” Synali replied just as coldly.

"Synali." Aerinite hissed sharply under her breath as her feathered crest flattened slightly in distaste.

“Just because I’m half mech doesn’t make me obedient.” Levin shot back, a faintly mechanical snarl resonating in her words.

“HOW DARE-" The same male voice from before cried before being cut off by the king himself.

Malen, silence. We’re lucky enough to welcome her here. See that your overly dramatic, undignified squawking doesn’t run her off, yes?”

"My King." The male Skydancer to his right muttered respectfully with a dip of his head as his light-touched gaze temporairly diverted off to the side as his antennae twitched irritibly; though he continued to shoot visual daggars at Levin for the remaining length of the meeting.

After a few terms and conditons were negotiated and agreed to between Norwal's King Synali and Levin, the Pearlcatcher agreed to act as the Castle's resident engineer and mechanic and a short-term stint as the Castle's Lightning Representative under the conditions that her shop could be within the Lightning Farm and that she'd be free of worry when it came to upgrading or repairing her tools and machines. And of course, a substantial pay in treasure for her time, effort, and knowledge.

Despite her newfound position as Honored Norwal Royalty, Levin has elected to spend the vast majority of her time in her workshop within the Lightning Farm; away from the drama of politics and gossip. However, it has been whispered that the infamous Talona had approached Levin via one of her underlings about forming a sort of… alliance. There has been no word on whether or not Levin has accepted the deal or not, let alone if those whispers are true...

Note:: Small, thin streaks of electricity dance across the rubies ingrained in her face and upper neck when she’s irritated or flustered. Levin does not show respect towards anyone (except her mother), which has somehow seemed to earn the admiration of King Synali.

(1) "Okay first I laughed so hard at her broadcast message. It fits so well since she's the lightning rep but I absolutely adore the message none the less. The bright blue veined on her is so good and blends seamlessly with her lightning apparel. I originally thought she just had apparel but then looked that she had veined!" - TIR3D

(2) "Something about Levin is so harmonious, the way the apparel matches perfectly with her colors, and how the hair and tubes on the tail add a layer of depth to her look. Her veined is also so beautiful, I didn't know Robin could make such a good veined against a darker background <3 At first it was very hard for me to separate what was apparel and what were her genes, because of how well everything fits to make one whole look." - Hnai

(3) "She is the perfect lightning rep, with the perfect colours. That bright blue veined on black metal is beautiful and really enhances her robotic vibe. Her tert matches the apparel perfectly, so much that it looks like a skin designed to match. The browns and bronze in the apparel fits with the blue so well too." - Mertisal

(4) "Ohh such a simple but wonderful lightning rep. The robin veined with the apparel is brilliant, the veined just looks like an extension of the lightning/electricity effect in the apparel. When I see her name I can't help but think of Levin swords from fire emblem. Is that a reference or am I reaching?" - Terato

(5) "Levin is by far my favorite, she's so pretty, I could see her being an engineer or something! Her apparel suits her so well and goes really well with her gene/color combo! She's just beautiful and I KNEW i had to pick her when I saw her!! I think I'm gonna go back to see her in a while to check (sic) if you gave her lore, just in case :3" - Dianounais
