Biography
CHIMALLI The Generous Spirit Clan Role: Helper Mate: none Pronouns: they/them Bio: Though Chimalli appears to be a hatchling dragon, they are in fact a small spirit hailing from the Southern Icefield. They helped to grow plants in some of the more desolate areas of that region, though their magic could only go so far. If they left the area while the plants were still in a vulnerable state, the more fragile of the flowers were likely to die in the harsh weather and biting cold. So, they stayed in one area for a long time, carefully nurturing their little magical garden surrounded by snowdrifts. It wasn't the best life, but it was what Chimalli was used to, so they didn't mind. But then one day, some travelers came through. At first, Chimalli was angry at them, incensed even, since one of the visiting dragons stepped on a tiny plant and another actually picked one of their carefully grown flowers. But after a magical battle with Arcblast, the overly-colorful mage who exuded warmth enough to melt the nearby snow, Chimalli was defeated. They lay on the snow, form flickering, expecting to be squished like the small frost-tolerant bugs that sometimes came to nibble at their flowers. But to their surpise, Arcblast apologized and started to explain. She had been looking for a rare herb, she said, and this was the only place she had found some. She needed it for making Dragonpox cures. She had no idea there was a spirit tending this garden. Chimalli apologized too, and admitted they just weren't used to seeing anyone. They told Arcblast she could gather as much as she needed--well, what had survived their battle, anyway. As Arcblast watched the spirit sadly contemplate the mess that had been their carefully-tended garden, her eyes softened beneath her hat. She invited Chimalli to come with them if they could, much to the little spirit's surprise. Chimalli surprised themself by agreeing. After all, they found a kindred spirit (ha) in the Gaoler of the group, Jarvan, whose fur grew little flowers that smelled somehow sweet and sad at the same time, and also in Alister, the dragon with green eyes and ice powers. Chimalli is usually with the Wanderers, now, seeing things they could never have dreamed of in their little patch of magical, frail garden in the Southern Icefield. Sometimes they vanish for a time, especially if the group goes somewhere too warm and it's harder to hold their form together, but they always come back. Now instead of helping small flowers, they help dragons, and sometimes beastclans, and encourage their friends to do the same. |
