ALISTER
A Serious Jester

Bio: If there was one word other dragons could use to describe Alister, they'd probably pick 'intense'. If there was a second word, it would definitely be 'lackadaisical'. If this seems like a bit of a contradiction, that's just how Alister is. He does everything very seriously, with a look on his face like he's rewiring a bomb--even if what he's actually doing is shuffling cards or preparing to throw a snowball (a favorite pastime of his). He says things with a straight face, going on for minutes at a time about the terrifying beast whose footprints he saw in the marsh to the side of the trail, but yet after a time he'll grin and show it had all been an elaborate ruse. And yet, at other times, he'll actually have seen a dangerous drop off on the trail ahead.

All of this makes it extremely hard to tell when Alister is joking or not. To tell the truth, Arcblast finds him a bit maddening, but she keeps him around for two reasons. The first is, he reminds her of herself when she was younger, the way he likes to use his magic to put on shows. And the second, of course, is because if she tried to leave him behind, Alister would just end up finding his way back to her again, anyway.

Despite being a Nature dragon, his magic is mostly of the icy variety, changing the temperature of the air around him and making little flurries. He gives a wildly different answer each time he's asked how he came by such incongruous powers. Privately, Arcblast thinks perhaps that's just part of his nature--a dragon of contradictions.
