His parents were both artist. His father a designer who was cool and calm under pressure. A characteristic considered normal for an ice dragon. His mother, a plague dragon, was a sketch artist. She was big into fashion. If there was a new popular outfit, she was the reason. Both parents had hoped that their son would grow up to be like them. Someone with artistic taste and the initiative to go further into life than his parents had. Their hopes were soon crushed. Caladrius wasn't like them. He wasn't like anyone. The magic that had created him, the magic of the Tidelord, was strong in him. He could see the future but he wasn't like most seers. He didn't see whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. His parents didn't understand at first. They always asked their son why he went to the clan's infirmary. When he stared at dragons, they lived. When he refused to look at them, they died. At first, the coincidence was enough to make the parents chuckle, until they realized that their son was foreseeing who would live and who would die. Not only that, but when their son looked into someone's face and then suddenly left, he didn't return until days later. Out of curiosity, his father followed the young coatl into the wilderness one day. He saw his son suffering, crying out in pain as his beautiful wings faded to almost pure white. The father wanted to go help, but froze. He saw his son dispel the illness out into a forbidden part of the ocean somewhere no dragon or familiars go. After, his son's plumage returned to their usual colors. Needless to say, Caladrius's father was shocked, scared, but saw an opportunity.

That was how Caladrius ended up traveling the land to figure out who would live and who would die. His father took him to new places while he traveled to come up with new ideas. When there, Caladrius performed his work. He saw who would live and who he could not save. But this caused hatred. Families demanded to know why the young coatl couldn't cure everyone. Why he couldn't save the life of someone that was too far gone. The hate he faced scared Caladrius, so he ran away. The hatred that he faced back home with the neighboring clans did little to ruin his attitude. He was always a happy, joyful coatl, but once he drew an illness inside of him, he changed. He became cold and distant. His family learned this early on but now no one knew what his skills were. No one knew how to deal with his constant attitude changes. He has tried to explain to clan after clan that he only wants to help others. He wishes to heal, to cure, but they all refused to believe him. If he can't save everyone, then what reason does he have to exist? That was what he was told, time and time again, until he found a new home. A clan that didn't quite understand his magic or why he can go from being so happy and supportive one moment to quiet and distant the next. They did see potential. The potential to save the lives of those who can be saved. The shadow clan welcomed Caladrius into their home, into their infirmary, and waited. He walked among the dragons, and then finally looked one in the face. He smiled at them, asked them how they were doing, and then left. Before he made it out the door, he turned bitter and harsh. He snapped at the others that tried to talk to him, and he ran into the woods. Hours later he returned and went back into the infirmary with a large smile and apologies to those he snapped at. His attitude changed again, and again, and again. Until half of the ill dragons had been cured. Their healing sped up. The others... some of them did survive but not without any repercussions. Others passed away in their sleep. Scared of the clan's reactions, Caladrius tried to leave.

The clan leader found him again and comforted the scared coatl. It was obvious to the whole clan Caladrius couldn't save everyone, but those he did appreciated his ability. The clan then took him to their allies and their ill. Caladrius did all he could, and allowed many dragons to go home to their families, but others... the clan leaders didn't get upset after the leader of the clan Caladrius found explained to them his ability. They didn't wish to use him either, without his permission. They offered him a deal: heal their sick when he could, and he would have shelter with the clan he found, food, and payment. The job ended up being everything Caladrius could have asked for. He was able to help others and he was given the space to do it. It became well known among the clans that knew him that, when he appeared, everyone needed to keep out of his way. It was vital he disperse the illness without anyone nearby, unless their goal was to get deathly ill. Even though his job is morbid and depressing, Caladrius had been able to maintain a certain level of joy. Those that know him can describe him as warm and gentle. A kind individual who is quick with a smile and a joke. Sometimes, though, this can change, even when he's not working. Some say his powers take a toll on his very spirit and is slowly draining him of his life. Caladrius says that is just silly talk from the clan. He feels fine, but sometimes he does get sick himself. He can tell anyone that ask him that healing yourself is one of the most tiring, troublesome trials.

I feel like Caladrius would be an enigmatic dragon, sort of eccentric but a total sweetheart. I get pansexual vibes. He has a huge crush on the less... lively Crow. Sadly, chances of a relationship are unlikely because Crow is asexual hetero.
