"Prospit, there you are." Bladecalled out, "The Clan leader wanted you to report for training."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I was just watching the clouds." the young Nocturne said, "I wanted to see what was going to happen?"

"Like the weather?" Blade asked, he had unusual sight, and though this youngster's eyes looked normal enough, he was prepared to have an open mind.

"Not really, no," Prospit said, "Can you do it, with your eyes like they are, just look at a cloud, and relax, and then the white fades away and the pictures come?"

"No," Blade said, "I can't do that, what do you see?"

"I see my older sister Manits killing things," He said, "She becomes a mighty warrior, There's a dragon of a kind I've never seen, it has bug wings, I think it's GladeQueen, she changed into it. Ace caught a whole bunch of ducks, that will be yummy, I like duck."

Blade was thoughtful as he listened to this. He knew of the plans for GladeQueen's future, but he doubted Prospit had, this bore looking into. "You wait here, I need to talk yo Arkar." He said.

"Ok." Prospit replied, he was content to watch clouds all day, there was so much fascinating information in them.


Blade found Arkar fairly quickly, the clan leader was hard to miss. "I wanted to talk to you about Prospit."He said.

"How's his training going?" She asked.

"That's just it, he hasn't started, and I don't think he should. I think the boy can see into the future, that would be a valuable power to have in our clan, I don't think we should exalt him."

"Are you sure, or is he just making things up to get out of fighting, you know most nocturnes would rather sleep than fight, though they have talent for it once pushed."

"If he's faking it, he;s a gifted actor and knows more than we give him credit for. i suppose the test is if Ace catches any ducks today, Prospit's been up on the hill all morning and can;t have seen what she was doing."

"I'll be very surprised if Ace catches ducks, since i sent her off bug hunting." Arkar said, "Let's go down to the lair and see if she's back."

Ace looked up as they approached, "Clan leader, I caught six honeybees, that's all I could find that early, I'll try again in the afternoon, but look at all these ducks, they practically walked into my mouth, I had to bring them home."

Blade looked at Arkar, Arka sighed, "Very well, go train some of his sisters for exultation, lets see what the boy can do if given time.


Prospit was watching the clouds, and noticed with surprise that he saw himself among them. He was fighting a flock of webwings that were attacking a strange creature in yellow robes. He recognized the place, it was on the eastern border of the territory near light flight, just own hill of the graveyard. He was wondering when this was going to happen, when he heard shrieking, and realized it was happening now. Tearing his eyes from the clouds the young nocturne hurried over, never questioning that he would do what he saw.

the arrival of a full grown dragon set the webwings about their business, and Prospit helped the creature he had rescued up. He introduced himself and asked the creature what its name was. "I am called Post Master, it said, and I am a Luminous Ambassador. I bring messages from light clans to allied beast clans. those webwings drove me off my route."

"they drove you out of light flight entirely, this is a nature clan."

"Really, i thought there was a river between Light and Nature."

"Not any more, Clan Arkar holds the east bank for the Gladekeeper, but we are at peace now and expand no more."

"would you be interested in alliances with non-dragons?" The Post Master asked, "I can help you set up a postal system that will ease communication between your lair and others."

"I think that would be useful, but we'll have to talk to my clan leader,s he;s quite intimidating." Prospit said.

"I have heard of Clan Leader Arkar, I trust you will keep me safe." Post Master said, dusting off his yellow robes.

"I hope I can." Prospit said.

They found Blade before they found Arkar. He took one look at PM's light robes and suggested that he should be the one to take news of this to Arkar. There was no need to get her riled up by waving a light banner under her nose. He told Prospit that he was not to be exalted, but was instead to develop his future seeing powers. Blade doubted there would be any objection to him setting up a postal service while he did that.
