"Hello! My name is Skerry. Lovely community you've got here! I know you must hear this all the time, but did you know there's a few steps you can take to make your home even better? Here, take some literature..."
s k e r r y

Uh-oh, looks like this single-minded guardian wandered a little too far from their home lair (452562, Hyzenthlaay), and now they’re off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt them, we'd really appreciate it if you instead could just return them to their original home via the Crossroads, send them off in the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread (warning, you will get another traveler in return if you do this), or if you don’t want another traveler in return, this rest hub. You can also adopt them permanently if you don’t want them leaving your lair - just contact Hyzenthlaay and let her know (it’s good for her notes)!

Many people have worked very hard on this traveling dragon, and exalting them would be an absolute shame. Please don’t do it!

Skerry comes from a long bloodline of traveling missionaries from the Redempest religion, whom preach that Sornieth can only be saved from future misery by conducting daily, worldly reflection. But Skerry was raised far from her lineage underneath a splintered subset of a once-mighty clan known as the New Republic. Nestled within the Spiral Keep and no stranger to dogma even miles from her birthright, Skerry was merely told stories of her father as backdrop and made to attend to current clan matters over his memory. She knew of Redempestism, but little of its actual composition - and thus, when the news came that her father had passed in a dreadful cliff-collapse, Skerry took it as her opportunity to learn more. No longer content with the ideals of the New Republic, she stole off into the night to make her way to the Arcanist's realm.

She knew that her father came from a prosperous artisan city called Mavenlark, and it was not hard to find it - practically every traveler she met had heard of the place and pointed her in the right direction. Upon finding it, she was quick to reconnect with her great-great-great-grandparents, whom ran the clan's local branch of the religion. They were shocked to meet her, having no idea of her birth or existence from Timefaer - who had been off the grid with the two for ages before his death - but welcomed her enthusiasm with open arms. It took little time for her to become trained in the ways of missionary work, and she was soon sent off once more with a purpose - to preach the ways of the Redempest religion to dragons across Sornieth. Will your clan be willing to listen?

Today is the day of my graduation, and my greater-grandparents say that they couldn't be more proud of me. I know that's the type of fluff talk most people would give you, especially if you were willingly choosing to go out into the world to represent their religion, but somehow, they've always got this way of speaking that makes me believe everything they say. A sort of everything-is-going-to-be-okay tone. I wonder if that's how dad talked?

Ruyime, 6/6/2020:
I first went to this clan to educate them about the Redempest religion. They were kind of hesitant at first but then slowly began to trust me. But there’s a problem, some already had a religion and others are atheists. The good thing is there was some who was willing to hear me out. I tried my best educating the ones that were interested. I taught them the teachings until they were ready to reteach it to others. On the second day here, I decided to move.

hyzenthlaay, 9/16/2020:
A strong urging in my heart told me to return to Mavenlark. This is the sort of sensation that sharpens when you practice Redempestism, you see - a sixth sense for when fate is calling you.

That's where I met the father of my hatchlings.

Oh, you should have seen the look of joy on my greater-grandparents' faces when I dropped off my children with them! New converts, new chances to spread our goodwill across Sornieth. I am more than happy to do my part to this end, and confident that they will take care of my children. Until we meet again, Aspire and Atoll - and may that day be soon.

batterupzach, 9/16/2020:
If I am being honest, this was the last place I expected to find potential converts. A desolate place on a mountain, which against all expectations is teaming with life. The dragons there were quite friendly and eager to hear what I had to say even though there was already a religion. Their archivist, Thorn, was the most interested. He invited me back to his study so he could record it for his scrolls and had many questions I was more than happy to answer. I did, however, get one individual to pledge themselves to Redemptionism: Maelgad. She came to me the night I was to depart and asked me if the way of worldly reflection could cleanse her of past misery as well. I explained all misery could be cleansed if she committed herself to it and she agreed to give my religion a try. I left the mountain happily knowing I had made a difference for one dragon and had plenty more at my next destination.

(If Skerry is bred, it is her responsibility to bring Clan Mavenlark her children so that they may too be trained in the ways of missionary work. If you breed her, contact Hyzenthlaay! You don't have to give her all (or any, even) of Skerry's babies, but she'd like to register them in the lineage, which you can read more about by clicking the badge below.)

@Hyzenthlaay here! This dragon is officially a part of the "Around the World in 365 Dergs" challenge. Check out the thread for information and more travelers like this! ...or just read the following:
  • The general idea is that I am going to create 365 unique traveling dragons, send them off into the world, and see what happens. I'm also going to complete mini-challenges along the way using travelers. If that interests you, consider checking the challenge thread out!
  • I don't want to overflood the system with just my dragons, so adopting travelers from me to live in your lair is totally fine! In fact, I'm betting on it. Just let me know.
  • Always feel free to tell me when you have this dragon in your lair! I love hearing updates.
