Maelgad

In the darkest corners of the Earth Realm, you hear the darkest stories. Stories of pirates and heroes, theives and martyrs. But there are also whispers of a long-lost Clan, a clan of the deadliest assasians known to it.

They say it was lead by a pair of dragons, mates, who studied some of the most brutal techniques known to their Realm and used it as a selling point. Them and their band of rogues were essentially an army for hire. Soon the group settled down in the Shrieking Wilds. Not a homely place by any means but many of the members had seen much more grisly creatures than a simple nocturnal beast. It was here the two mates decided they would bring offspring into the world. In time, one child, a daughter, was born. But the birth took the life of her mother and with his love went what was left of his soul. From then on, the leader never loved. He raised his daughter in hatred, never giving her a proper name. She recognized herself as "child" or "hatchling", nothing more. She followed in her father's evil footsteps. Her claws were soaked in blood before her horns grew in. Whispers of the Nameless General began to precede the leader's.

One night, a Fire Realm army descended on a temporary camp in Carrion Canyon. There were no survivors. All except The Nameless General, who fled into the night after being half blinded by a knight. Later, she would became a blade-for-hire by the name of Maelgad. Those who had once worked with the leader had heard before. Many times he would scream it at the General, yelling it was the name that would have been given to his son had she not robbed it of him. Now her father was fed. The name was hers and Maelgad became infamous. Mages, Knights, Diplomats, Merchants, and Royals fell before her. Even her familiar Kesu was a spoil of war -- taken from a blacksmith who had been the informar that led the Fire Realm to her family that night. However, her most prestigious deal was with a Water Realm King who wanted revenge on his troublesome son, who'd burned his palace down a few years prior. The blaze took the life of his daughter and he'd promptly exiled the criminal, but wanted to make sure he would not cause any shame for the family in the future. So, in examge for a horn and a tooth (a golden canine), he'd pay her handsomely. The last he's heard was that Prince Kunshu had fled into the Arcane Realm to some outcast Clan.

Maelgad went on her way. But to this day, the King has not received his payment. Not has anyone dared mention the Nameless General. Some say she was arrested, others that Kunshu killed her. These stories are all speculation. But in the Arcane Realm, a small cabin lays in the outskirts of an old acropolis, filled to the brim with bonsai trees. A scarred Imperial dragon carefully trims each one, trying to forget the souls who haunt her past.
