Attendant

Attendant Uh-oh, looks like this helpful Fae wandered a little too far from her home lair (grxndsxn, 437722), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her home, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here, or to the rest hub if you don't want another dragon in return. She would prefer not to be exalted!

After stopping by a few clans who didn't desire her help, Attendant came to the Sunbeam Lanternhouse, slightly dejected that her journey so far had been... well, totally unremarkable. When Kukulcan warmly offered her a choice of rooms, she burst into tears, much to her embarassment. She fled to a room at random, locked herself in, and... just had a good cry.

When Kukulcan brought her a pot of mint tea and a sympathetic ear, she poured out her heart to him: how her journey wasn't going at all the way she'd expected, how she really wanted to help the clans she visited, her frustration at not having any readily-usable skills. He listened seriously to all that she said, and then surprised her with an invitation to apprentice under him for the duration of her stay; the Brightshine Jubilee was coming up, and he needed the help.

Grateful and eager, she accepted. He introduced her to many of the key members of the Lanternhouse, explaining coordination among them, one of his key duties as host, and - mistakenly - referring to her interest in the Brightshine Jubilee planning in Taalay's hearing.

The bright pink Spiral whisked her away as his helper, heaping upon her sunflowers - to the point of burying her. But it made her laugh, and she flew after Taalay as he zoomed about decorating the Lanternhouse. Between helping Kukulcan coordinate deliveries for the festivities and decorating with Taalay, the weeks leading up to the Jubilee disappeared in a flash.

On the very last night of the Jubilee, at the feast she had helped Haruna prepare, Attendant toasted all of her mentors. She had learned a little of many valuable skills: coordinating dragons to work together, tasteful decorating, cooking. She cried again, but this time they were tears of happiness.

Her confidence bolstered, she bade her hosts farewell.
