It is difficult to say with certainty where some dragons within the Hezul Mercenaries come from, for they have such peculiar trains of thought that they might as well be unearthly- moral compasses so blue and orange that they resemble stars more than any ocean or lava found on the surface of Sornieth. However, there is one train of thought, more rational than any other, which makes itself present; the idea that money drives the world, and that the highest bidder has the highest quality of service. Jira, affectionately called by a nickname rather than her true name, embodies this thought in every movement she makes.

She came from outer space, she came from deep below, she has always and never existed; she makes a point to not linger wherever she goes, keeping friends away and enemies further. The only thing known for certain by most is that she is a stellar sniper, and that some entity is attached, lingering in her shadow, refusing to let go. It was bound to her long ago, and it possesses her in flights of fancy, covering her eyes and soaring into the air. Jira's den, nestled deep within the snow, is spacious yet condensed, full of stolen texts and artifacts that she's been led to believe will separate the beast from her body. The truth to her story is that she was once a soldier, from some faraway planet, bathed in darkness. She was no different from her squadron of siblings; she was the second oldest, then, a formidable opponent in battle but subservient to a fault. Her dictators were cruel and unkind, taking their dead children and simply building more to send to their deaths in the vast expanses of the cosmos. It was no way to live. It was no way to die, either, and she knew it fully. It was a pointless war and one that she refused to fight any longer, on behalf of someone else rather than herself. Jira fled to a warship, promptly slicing through each and every soldier aboard, before thrusting it into overdrive and flying for years, years, years. Her chest seized with fear in every passing moment, but she had made her decision. Her siblings would not survive, save for one, who not only fled, but turned traitor. She found their motivations admirable.. more so than her own. It was then that she spent thousands of years coming to her senses, settling down, easing into a comfortable silence with nobody but herself and her unwanted companion. Solace eventually came in landing on a somewhat inhabited planet, nestling herself into a snowy lair. She would never die; nor would she ever truly live. But it was comfortable, and no one had to know. Her guilt, and all that it had weighed upon her burdened shoulders, was hers and hers alone. |

Confident, outspoken, and willing to put her money where her mouth is, Jira is one of the most prominent voices despite her propensity for laying in obscurity. Her mistakes have left her a distant woman under the facade of rebelliousness and strength, leading her to demand compensation from those who hire the mercenaries where no other would think to air their grievances. Despite this, she has very few close friends, for she does not allow them; the only souls allowed near and dear to her heart are her sibling and her partner, another traitor from the opposite side of this Intergalactic War. She maintains a keen interest in the occult of various civilizations, and is a fairly well-known expert in certain subjects. In time, she may open up her heart, and befriend more people- repairing her ship and exiting this world to explore countless more.
