The ship was big, beautiful, luxurious, and its crew was full of pride. The passengers were a mix of many different personalities... unfortunately too many leaned toward the dark. Chests of gold and jewels had been loaded on at the behest of one particular guest. They were locked away in the hold and only a few knew of their existence. Until, somehow, almost everyone knew. Every substance in the world has some weakness... a place where if you hit in just the right way with just the right tool, you can shatter it into any shape you want. Sentient creatures have, for the most part, one very easily found weakness... greed. The tools needed to introduce that hit to each different passenger were different, but their wielder was well-studied in the art of shaping wills and desires to his own ends. Before most knew what was going on, the deaths had already started. By the end of the night, nearly everyone on the ship was dead or dying. In a frenzy of greed, paranoia, and desire, they killed and died in droves. Until the only things left were the demon puppet master and the spirits of the dead. The AntonioGraza floated out on the ocean for a long time; there is no way to know how many other crews were seduced and slaughtered by the cursed vessel and its deadly treasure. Those few who heeded the warnings of one little girl's ghost would sometimes make it back to shore alive. But not many, not often. It wasn't until a dying dragon used the last of its life force and magic to make the ship into a sort of prosthetic body that some limits were put upon the cursed vessel. Antonio is still himself, but he also hears the dark and dangerous whispers of the puppet master from the tattered timbers and sails of the ship... urging him to do horrible things. He will resist as long as he can. With any luck, he can get some help to tame the evil he unknowingly took into himself when he was trying to save his own life on the water that fateful night. Hopefully the many spirits and magic users at Chaotic Daydreams will be able to find a solution to his unique situation... before he hurts anyone or the demon somehow escapes to harm again. |
