P E R S O N A L I T Y

______ Jacob was spoiled from the beginning. He may not have been an heir for the new clan he belonged to, but his new parents seemed to quite like him, giving him everything and anything he wanted. They didn’t see any harm in it at the time, but as he grew up, they soon found out it may have been a bad idea.

______ On the flipside, Rhowen, the Elder Mage of the clan (and… his new adoptive father) saw plenty of magic potential in him and took him under his wing as an apprentice, beginning to train him, no matter how much he really didn’t want to. He does quite like the actual magic part, but he very much dislikes the amount of effort he needs to put into it all.

______ He was adopted from the Aquafire Clan, a descendant of the two leaders. That may not have been something he knew for a while, but even still he seemed to act as if he was always going to get his way no matter what. Which, stupidly, his new adoptive parents went along with, spoiling him silly.

______ Now, in his adolescence, he really hasn’t learned anything, unfortunately. Most of the clan has learned to ignore his whining and not give him what he wants, but at the same time there are some people that do, further encouraging his behavior. Rhowen has tried to help him change that behaviour, but it’s still yet to work.

B I O G R A P H Y

______ The Tundra sighed dramatically, his head propped up on his paw, resting on a nearby wall. The nearby Skydancer didn’t bother to look over, simply flicking the page in the book he was skimming. Seeing it had no effect, Jacob sighed again, this time deeper and even more dramatic.
Rhowen snapped the book shut, briskly looking over to the mischievous Tundra.

______ ”What do you want?” He asked shortly, setting the book down onto the shelf it belonged on, his magenta eyed gaze staring straight through the other.

“I’m bored,” He whined, dropping his head onto the wall.

“You are in a library with a plethora of books to peruse. How can you be bored? I brought you in here to study and consolidate your learning, not sit here lollygagging,”

“But that’s boriiiiiing, I wanna do something interesting!”

______ ”Reading is interesting! Haven’t you ever…” he trailed off, grabbing a random book off of the shelf. Rhowen flipped it open to a random page, swiftly glancing over the page. “Wanted to know… about… how and why banded dart frogs cause hallucinations? Or why feverfew can stop headaches? Libraries are a source of hours upon hours of entertainment and knowledge. There’s more things to learn in here than you’ve already encountered,”

______ The Tundra just rolled his eyes. He really didn’t care for any of this. He didn’t want to be here in the first place, yet here he is. Don’t get him wrong, he’s really into this whole… magic thing. He adores the thought of being able to do whatever he likes, but he just doesn’t want to have to put in the rest of the effort required to master the topic.

______ ”Jacob…” The mage sighed, placing the book back and approaching the adolescent. He wrapped a wing around him, something the other tried to slide away from, but still got caught by anyways.
“I know it all seems rather… drab to you. It’s practically a chore to have to slug through hours upon hours of reading words that don’t seem to stick, but you and I both know you aren’t going to get anywhere if you don’t go over what you’ve been taught in other ways. You may even learn new spells and magic through the books here if you take the time to read them. Either way, I’m not going to force you to sit here if you don’t want to,” His voice had definitely softened a lot since he’d started half-ranting at him, “Go grab a snack or something. Come back if you want to, or don’t. If you do I might teach you something new,”

______ A snack sounded good, but then again, when didn’t a snack sound good? The answer? Never. Snacks are always good. Jacob nodded, standing up and trotting out of the room. He… probably wouldn’t be back, to be honest, but it’s always worth a shot. There’s no harm in teaching him something a little harder than usual, especially in a controlled environment.
Rhowen smiled softly as he walked out, lightly rolling his own eyes. He does regret spoiling him so much in his youth, but he loves him all the same.
