Biography

Adiris
sotiris where’d you find my boyfriend? the sewer?

Adiris is the eldest sibling of the Lyon family, residents of the Order itself, though not by much. Born just a few minutes prior to her twin brother, Adalus, she endlessly teases him. In return, he refuses to allow her to forget her first love, a blond farmhand from the peasant region.
Her life was going fine, albeit uneventful. Aside from the memory of the trial she had little to dwell on.. other than the looming prospect of finding a husband. Her mother pressured her to find a wealthy, handsome man, while her father encouraged her to find someone she loved (within their standards). Unfortunately for her, other things would come the centerpiece and throw such petty affairs out of the window.
The arrival of a strapping young soldier and her partner threw the Order into a buzz, and Adalus became infatuated with the soldier. He hired her swiftly as his personal bodyguard and Adiris suspected something was afoot. She didn’t want to stick her nose into her dear brother’s business, so she kept out of it.
She regretted this decision when she found the body.
A fretful servant knocked on her door and told her in a shaky voice that, “It’s your brother!” Shocked and confused, she allowed the servant to pull her by the arm through the hallways to a most horrific sight. Her brother was laying on the ground in a pool of blood, a fresh penetrating injury in his back. A crowd of servants and nobles had gathered, stunned, and all of them looked horrorstruck when they saw Adiris viewing the body with a pale face of terror.
She curled over the body and mourned, and she saw the soldier, his failure of a bodyguard, standing at a doorway. She ducked away and disappeared. Through her tears, Adiris swore to herself that pig had killed her brother. She knew it.

When Justice finally released his information on the murder, he stated that the injuries were from a longsword, and that Adalus had been backstabbed, caught unawares, by the assailant. Adiris’ blood boiled at the memory of the longsword at Sotiris’ scabbard. She descended into her chamber room, the door locked, to dwell on her thoughts. Her growing insanity, her lessening self-care, and a burning hatred for Sotiris... and finally, a desire for her death.
Adiris soon called the knight to her chamber and she obliged. Adiris knew her mutation of blood magicks, no matter it’s weakness in comparison to the Order, would decimate the knight. After all, she had only fought faceless soldiers in her time, only to be hailed as an extraordinary hero for glorified murder.
She guzzled her wine as the knight entered her chamber, where she looked curiously at the fact all the furniture had been cleared to the sides of the main room. She threw the glass to the dark oak floor, shattering it. And with a scream, she descended on the knight with unmatched fury. Her deranged yells accused Sotiris of luring her brother in, covering him with falsities, only to kill him once he got comfortable and she had her fun. Sotiris parried not only repeated blows of an elegant rapier, but screamed allegations as well.
As Sotiris declared her innocence stalwartly, Adiris’ rage grew as she realized her attacks weren’t penetrating the knight’s armor. So, as a last resort, she finally used her magicks. She siphoned blood from the air and created a whirlpool around herself, and charged at her enemy. Repeatedly slamming her into the wall and creating slug trails of blood in her wake, Sotiris found herself growing exhausted, fatigued, and weak.
Adiris finally had the knight kneeling and huffing and she smiled to herself, a cheers to her victory. But a growing doubt, a festering feeling of longing, incubated within her.
She charged at the weakened soldier, and she lifted her blade in one final attempt to save her life and end this fight. But, when she braved herself... she wasn’t met with the crushing force of an oncoming witch. She opened her tired eyes to see Adiris, devoid of magic, standing with her chest just touching the cold tip of the steel. She looked down at her.
“Go. Kill me. Just like you killed my brother.”
Through huffs, she replied, “I didn’t kill him. And I will not kill you. I refuse.”
“Your mockery of honor amuses me, go ahead.”
“Don’t insult me. If I have to convince you...” and with those words, the blade fell uselessly at her side. She breathed heavily and explained to the ravaged, pale woman her innocence. Finally, it seemed her reasoning got through to her. Adiris lifted the bloodied knight up and they limped to the infirmary, together, in an uneasy yet somehow bright companionship.

Time had passed and their relationship grew steadily and, against all odds, they became trusted friends. One night while Adiris was nursing her tea, she heard a knock at her door. Expecting something mundane, but faintly interesting, she opened her door to see the massive frame of Sotiris, in full armor. Her face was bruised and battered like she had been in a horrible fight. Before Adiris could prod, her eyes trained next to the figure of her friend.
Next to her was standing a tall - yet short in comparison - man with long, raven hair, pale skin, and a sunken face. He looked at the ground as if this was foreign soil. She noticed immediately he was wearing rags, and looked like he was picked off of the street. That... and his legs faded into a gradient of sickly green, and he was just as battered as Sotiris next to him. Through the haze of questionable attire, blooming bruises, and his curtain of unbrushed hair, she saw a strikingly beautiful face. His eyes were bright green and yet despite the off-puttingly foreign face, he felt familiar to her.
