Biography

Ω Ω Ω
❝I don’t understand. Are there, or are there not, any books? Your answer is the deciding factor if I’m going or not.❞
Omega
Ω
Omega hatched with two welcoming smiles to greet his entrance to the world. A mother and a father his instincts whispered into his mind. He didn’t have an understanding of the concept, parents, at the moment, but he knew his eyes gazed at those who would never wish him harm. “Safe,”his instincts whispered once again. The nest had a warmth, and a texture he would always remember, but never would be able describe. Like the scent that drags you, willingly, back to your childhood, but you can never find the source of the nostalgic smell. His parent’s beaming faces, and the sun heating the tree sap nest to the perfect temperature, lulled him to the relaxing darkness of sleep. His first day alive, though a short one, would go down as good in his book. “Safe,” he sung back to his instincts.
Ω
Omega’s life began with welcoming and open-winged parents, but his story is that of going downhill from there. His previous clan held a school in its talons where he excelled academically. His parents would seemingly never cease their boasts of their studious son. His test scores were perfect. His pile of books were never left unread or collected even a speck of dust. His petite Fae brain held more information than all of his larger classmates, but there remained one struggling subject that never failed to defeat him whereas his peers succeeded. That subject was battle and hunting class. Omega constantly overthought his actions, and therefore, would defeat himself. The same brain that was a savior to his grades, was his enemy in that class. The only reason he wasn’t bullied by his classmates was because of the fact that one of his friends, Marble, was a giant of a Guardian. She towered over her teachers, peers, and older brothers. No one would dare look her in the eyes except for Omega. He saw her frustrating grade on an alchemy test one day, and offered to help her study with some free tutoring. It caught her off guard, but she accepted with a curious mindset as to how this Fae had more courage than all her peers, and they quickly became inseparable. Marble rapidly increased her grades thanks to Omega, and they both graduated with flying colors.
Ω
Omega entered the tense room with two neutral faced parents with rage dancing in their eyes. “Get. Out. Now,” his instincts growled to him with fear driving the words,”They know. It’s unsafe.” He didn’t have an inkling what his parents were about to say, but he knew foul words would drain from their bared teeth. “Who was that male Coatl you were with,” his father demanded, breaking the icy silence with cold words. “No one,” Omega lied. Omega was never a swell liar. He barely understood dragons, much less how to act normal. “Oh, so you just showed affection to a stranger?” his father said with a crooked smile that seemed more on the grimace spectrum. His father knew he had caught him in a lie with evidence that a jury would convict him on. Omega knew this. His mother knew this. Omega thought he saw a spark of pity in his mother’s eyes, but it was so quick, it would haunt him till his end. Had he imagined it, or could his mom have impeded the escalation of this situation? “Yes?” Omega said at an attempt to break the tension with a bit of humor. “More lies?” his father roared,”This is serious Omega! Who was that boy?” Omega bit back a nasty reply. “Stay calm,” his mind whispered,”Don’t say something you might regret.” His father growled at his son’s silence. Omega answered the growl with,”Yes, I’m gay. Woop-dee-do! Let’s totally make a big deal about it even though it’s not.” His bitter reply hit his father like a slap to the face. His father was silent for a few seconds before setting his jaw with flaming disappointed rage glowing in his eyes. “My house is for sane dragons only,” was the words he chose as the first reaction to Omega coming out. “What?” Omega bewilderedly breathed out,”Mom, he’s not serious, is he?” His mother didn’t reply. She only stared as if she spoke she might be endangering herself also. He had never seen his father like this. His dad was always happily telling dad jokes with happy eyes. “You heard me. Only a lunatic would choose-“
“It’s not a choice, Dad!”
“Yes, it is! And you chose wrong! Get out of my house now!”
“Just calm down! Let me explain. We can work this out! I’m not doing anything-“
Omega never finished his hopeless begging as his father leapt from his seated position on top of him. “I will not house a weak lunatic! It is a sin against nature! Against the deities!” he spat in his face the words that would burn Omega like a brand. Omega didn’t move out of his shocked state. His father mistook it as defiance, and began to force his claws into Omega’s fragile scales where scars are today. “Out,” his father growled out like a rabid beast. “Unsafe,” his instincts screamed, and he bolted out from underneath his father and out the door. His first day out, though a short one, will go down as his darkest moment in life.
Ω
Omega made it out of that situation alive, and roamed the forest for a few weeks with Marble. The Guardian had added herself on to his exile knowing he wouldn’t last a day on his own. The Coatl, Omega was allegedly spotted with, didn’t tag along as a result of him not ready to come out just yet. Omega understood, and doesn’t hold it against him. The fourth week of wandering aimlessly through the trees, they stumbled upon a castle-like cave. The Divitae took them in, and as soon as they were settled in, Omega wrote to his parents explaining that he was fine, if they cared, and where he was living now. His father never writes back out guilt of what was said, but his mother writes weekly. Omega never responds because he never forgave her for her silence. He only sends back blank messages, so she knows that he received them, but she isn’t worth a response. The Divitae admire his brains, but they are a bit weirded out by his expressive, outgoing nature as most of them are cold and calculating. The opposite could be said for Marble. They adore her cold, brutal nature, but loathe that she lacks book-smarts. Omega hosts weekly book club meetings when everyone is out on a hunt, but no one ever shows since they are in the middle of nowhere. He takes care of succulents in the library, but he hasn’t figured out not to hug them. On one book club meeting, he meets Jupiter, a WildClaw, and he instantly becomes friends with him. They are the only two goofballs that belong to the Divitae. Omega is a book-loving, gay bean that just wants to chill and make puns all day.
