CITLALI

Brilliant Conniving, Self-absorbed, Apathetic, Obsessive
Potions Master / Mate: Meztli

“We all have our little secrets, you would be wise to keep your snout out of those belonging to others.”
Meztli: Hey Baby! That's a nice hat ya found there!
Citlali: Suspicious glare.
But not as great as mine.
"Oh no..."
"Ya know why?"
"Don't you dare."
"Because:"
"Stop."
"I wore mine..."
"Not another word."
"Before it was"
"NO."
"Coooooool."
Facepawing. "Why am I mated to an idiot?"

Rare is the individual who would call Citlali benevolent. Single-minded in her obsession, she cares for little else outside the perfection of her art. Some say she cares for nothing at all aside the chase of mastery. The dragoness herself does not deny this.

Cold and reserved in emotion when dealing with others, she is without a doubt a born genius, even if she often seems to dance the line between it and madness. Her skills are renowned and widely sought after, astounding in their effects. With a pot, a potion, a spell and a scroll, she can turn the tiniest of Fae into the mightiest of Guardian, the most timid of Tundra into the fiercest Mirror, and allow those who seek her aid to so utterly reconfigure their very selves to a state their own clutch-mates would not recognize.

All for a price, of course. Genius does not come cheap.

Nor does it come without concern, for rumors abound regarding just where the components for her astounding transformations are mined. Cherished mementos, priceless artifacts, beloved pets, and even the occasional un-minded hatchling have been known to turn up missing when Citlali is in the midst of a new phase of experimentation. The results are almost without fail spectacular, but the circumstances have left the brew-witch with a long trail of questions best left unanswered beneath her wings.

“Ridiculous. Positively false,” claims the dragoness offhandedly, without looking up from her ever-boiling cauldron, when rumors surface. Tho it is in fact those very stirrings of suspicion that led her to slip from her previously claimed home clan, and to seek--as so many others before--the anonymity and freedom of the Ever Ice. Fluttering first to the frigid and unforgiving land as a diminutive and unmarked Fae, the witch wasted no time in proving herself not above personal experimentation, and in short order had reconfigured herself into a nigh unrecognizable form. Whether this was intentional--perhaps to avoid pursuit--or merely a result of mad-dash trial and error remains unclear. The truth of her practice is known to Malek, as the one unbreakable rule is that there are no secrets left unturned by the clan leader, but whatever the answer may be, it is clear Citlali’s skills have proven too useful to allow a dark past to overweight their value.

Here it would seem the callous witch has found--if not a home--at least stability, and safety. In a land of rogues and outcasts, after all, what is one more? She is given the space and secrecy she desires to practice her craft, and it is no few members of the clan itself who have sought out her aid in seeking to put their own pasts behind them. Thieves, murderers, betrayers, and the broken hearted: the reason does not matter to Citlali, only that the coin or trade is good, and that she be left with a steady stream of willing subjects to observe the effects of her tonics upon.

Those surplus items created in the process are peddled with the rest of the clan goods by her opportunistic mate, Meztli, who makes a point to always manage to be a few good flaps of the wing away before his buyers give their new looks a spin. Refunds are bad for business anyway. There seems at a glance to be little love or even affection between the two dragons, and Citlali at the least seems not to have an ounce of concern to spare for her mate’s constant philandering, but whatever bonds the two regardless appears strong enough to withstand the trials of difficult types, and shows no sign of faltering. Perhaps there is more to the picture than apparent from the outside. Or perhaps both are simply too wise to pass up the solidification of a good business deal, who can tell?
