S T O R Y

Legends say that Śnieżyca was born after a God's blood was spilled onto the winter snow on earth, causing a Red Poppy to bloom. It did not succumb to the cold and instead flourished, growing through all spring, summer and autumn, beginning to wilt towards the end of the latter. Once winter hit again, the Poppy gave way into a white orb-like fruit, the shell cracking, and red liquid spilling forth as a small hatchling crawled out from within.

The liquid clung to the hatchling and turned into feathers, the shell crumbled and turned into scales; The cold winter air shaped it's eyes, and the snow coated it until it turned white. The wing membranes turned dark like the trees around it, and sounded like the wind each time they flew. From countless hours spent in the cold, parts of Śnieżyca's body became discolored and blackened, but not frostbitten.

Unlike Banshees- who wail terribly when someone dies (or is about to)- Śnieżyca sings. Her hauntingly beautiful songs echo throughout the ever-winter mountains and forests, always managing to be heard by the one who had been befallen by misery and death. She does not actively hunt those that trespass into her territory nor does she like being seen- however, on rare occasions, the soft chime of bells can be heard ringing from within a snowstorm; it is wise to follow the sound, for it leads to safety. Do not fear the blood in the snow, if you manage to see it.

However, if you happen to encounter blood, but no chime... Pray the winter storm is kinder to you than She.

Sniezyca is a powerful dragon and a skilled hunter, however she has a tendency to be very, very quiet, rarely speaking unless it’s dire. The reason? She has a terrible stutter that she is very embarrassed about. What kind of predator has a stutter? Instead of trying to get help, she chooses to simply stop talking all together.
Sniezyca also paints her red feathers to hide them when hunting, as they stick out in the snowy landscape she lives in.

- She spends a good amount of time in the mornings preening her feathers, when she isn't hunting she takes a special pride in showing off her plumage.
- She will sometimes read with her familiar in private.
- She cares deeply for her clan but has trouble expressing it. She does her best by bringing home the best prey she can find for her clan.
- She was a very clumsy hatchling, but she grew out of it and became one of the clan's best hunters.
