Cadenza the Mage
I. Originally trained as a seer, it was no surprise that Cadenza was loved by her parents. Unlike her brother, Cadenza took the role of a seer very seriously. She was always the focused student, just like her mother. Her studies came first and foremost. Cadenza was an outcast because of the growth that came from her head. No one knew how it came to be and everyone was scared of it. But healers came to believe it was genetic as Hefin had the same one growing from his head after he became an adult. Despite being teased for it, Cadenza became a stronger seer. They were, after all, able to see much clearer in the darkest depths of the ocean which allowed them to complete their trials with great precision.

Cadenza's drive as a seer could not be questioned by anyone. They all saw her as possibly a greater seer than even her mother, something Katsuki took great pride in. She managed to foresee a coming tsunami that threatened the empire. It saved many lives, and Aislinn was eternally grateful. A few months afterward, Cadenza suffered a grave injury from a Dunhoof Centaur whilst visiting Dragonhome with her brother and Oisin. Knowing she would die without immediate help, Glacis sent her to a group of healers in the Spiral Keep.

The healers there were just barely able to keep her alive, her injuries were so grave. While in this near-death state, she received a vision from who she assumed to be the Tidelord (despite him still being missing). In her vision, she saw herself as a very powerful mage, defending the Empire's newest hatchlings from Beastclan threats. Her vision was true, and she knew exactly what to do as soon as she got better.

When they returned to the Empire with a newly healed Cadenza, the Pearlcatcher immediately went to speak with Aislinn about her vision. The Empress was surprised, not by the vision but also Cadenza's desire to change her position. Aislinn asked Cadenza about speaking to her parents, knowing their tendencies, but Cadenza refused. She said that there was no need to talk to Mariano and Katsuki, for this was her decision alone.

Aislinn agreed with this sentiment, and immediately signed the paperwork needed for Cadenza's change in roles. Her parents were initially outraged, though understood after she told them of her vision. Becoming a mage wasn't easy though. Despite Feichin being a kind dragon, he was a harsh teacher who always expected the best from his students. Hulda was no better, quite possibly being stricter than Feichin ever was.

II. But she always prevailed. Feichin was quite impressed with her work in such a brief time, though she was still a bit of an average mage when it came down to raw talent, with the likes of Ivona and Rayna surpassing her. Still, it was impressive how far she'd come in such a short time.

Years later and the dragon Talukra joined the Empire. Ae were quite the stunning dragon, with a very pretty tertiary. Talukra almost immediately caught Cadenza’s eye, though ae were quite busy with Amaris and her love for aer. But even though Talukra and Amaris were a thing, Cadenza enjoyed Talukra’s company so much it came as a shock to the rest of the Empire. Cadenza was loyal to her job as a mage, it was impossible to imagine she would fall in love.

Talukra and Cadenza were seen as best friends by the other dragons in the Empire. When Amaris wasn’t around, Talukra would hang out with Cadenza more than anyone else. They got remarkably close, and Cadenza found herself falling in love with the Spiral. She tried to stop her from feeling, due to aer being engaged to Amaris.

Later into their relationship, it was revealed that while Talukra loved Amaris with everything in them, they also weren't happy with her lack of progeny. Amaris—to Cadenza’s surprise—didn’t want anything to do with hatchlings. Talukra absolutely wanted hatchlings, and was distraught by her resistance.
Determined to help her “friend”, Cadenza went to speak with Amaris about her refusing to have hatchlings. Originally confrontation, she learned that Amaris was only against it because she wanted to focus more on being an artist. She didn’t want to raise hatchlings who wouldn’t have a present mother. She wanted to be involved in their life if she had them.

So Cadenza was torn between Talukra’s want for hatchlings and Cadenza’s want to be the best dragon she could be.

III. Days went by, and Cadenza realized tried to console both members of the relationship. It turned out that there wasn’t really a problem between the two—not one to drive them apart that is. But it was still taxing on the trio. All this time spent with Talukra and Amaris made Cadenza realize something.

She loved them both.

Unable to speak with them any further without talking about her problem, she blurted out to them both after hearing them argue one day. They were unprepared, but expressed their sympathies and understanding. It was hard for them as well after all. Talukra couldn’t chose between them, and Amaris found herself falling in love with Cadenza as well.

They talked their problems over, before deciding that maybe they could enter a relationship. It wouldn’t hurt to try. And it solved all their problems too. Talukra could have hatchlings with Cadenza, Cadenza could be with Talukra, and Amaris didn’t have to worry about having hatchlings. Everyone won.

And so they eventually all became married, knowing that they could now be happy together. Though their relationship still has a few kinks to work out, the three work together very well and always overcome these issues. Simply by talking over them.
