The first of the herd, Star Runner is a stubborn and somewhat sassy ampelope that enjoys getting Zil to chase after her. She was raised by him from a very young age, and although she's quite skittish and quick to flee when it comes to most other dragons, she adores Zil and knows when to be playfully obstinate and when to actually listen to his commands. She tends to get a lot braver if Zil is nearby, knowing he'll protect her if she does manage to get into danger, much to the Tundra's dismay—Star Runner has no qualms about staring down and challenging even the largest of predators if Zil is around.

Like most ampelopes, Star Runner is attracted to electricity, and is one of the few in the herd bold enough to nuzzle and occasionally try "eating" Zil's companion and helper, Lance. Lance seems to find it more amusing than annoying though, so Zil hasn't bothered trying to curb the behavior.

Unlike his mother, Silver Sun is a rather timid ampelope. He's quite shy and nervous, but aims to please and does his best. He is often embarrassed by his mother's spontaneity and stubbornness, clearly avoiding her at times. He wants no part in her often-dangerous shenanigan, and much prefers to spend time with the more sensible ampelopes in the herd. Silver Sun can often be found napping against Zil whenever the Tundra decides to sit in one place for too long.

Silver Sun likes Lance well enough, but can be rather skittish around him, and much prefers keeping Zil between him and the Lightning acolyte. Lance has learned that too many sudden movements startle Silver Sun, and tries to move slower when around the timid ampelope. Despite his nervousness, Silver Sun will still come to Lance when called with the signature arc of electricity through the sky. Zil believes Silver Sun is much more scared of being accidentally left behind than he is of being around Lance.

Quite the enigma, Far Bloom is a very still and patient ampelope that will often stand in one place for hours on end, silently watching the world around him. He's rather emotionally distant, especially in comparison to some of the other ampelopes in the herd, and doesn't socialize much. He never seeks attention, is fine when left on his own, and rarely stays close to others of his kind by choice. Far Bloom seems mildly interested in Zil—but only from afar; he will watch the Tundra with distant curiosity as he works to protect and monitor the herd, but is indifferent and gives Zil the cold shoulder whenever he's close by.

Unlike the other ampelopes that like Lance—if only because he provides them with electricity—Far Bloom seems rather unimpressed with Zil's companion. He doesn't respond to Lance's attempts at calling him, and Zil himself only barely manages to keep Far Bloom safely in the herd. The strange ampelope never explicitly tries to leave, but he never really follows, either.

A sweet and cuddly ampelope, Lucid Dream is by far the friendliest of the herd. She's friendly to a fault, and often tries to befriend would-be predators without a second thought. Completely fearless, she likely would have died long ago if not for Zil finding and keeping a close eye on her, along with the other ampelopes in his herd. It's not uncommon for Lucid Dream to try (and fail) to get Far Bloom's attention and affection, but despite Far Bloom's clear disinterest, she doesn't stop trying every time they cross paths. Her willingness to go along with anything so long as affection is promised has led to many dangerous events where Star Runner manages to team up with Lucid Dream to get into trouble. Luckily, Zil and Lance know to keep close watch whenever the two of them are around each other.

Lucid Dream is the only other ampelope other than Star Runner that frequently tries to "eat" Lance, although most of the time it's just an abundance of friendly and affectionate nuzzles. She gives Zil the same treatment, and especially loves snuggling up to the fluffy Tundra.

Calm and quiet, Dusk Haven is mild-mannered and well-behaved. She rarely causes trouble, comes when called, and gets along well with just about everyone, whether they’re a fellow ampelope or a friendly dragon. She spends a lot of time napping in the shade during the day, and seems to be more active come nightfall. It’s not uncommon for her to unintentionally startle passerbys, as she blends in well with the shadows she’s so fond of, and rarely makes a sound. She usually just stares in confusion when this happens, perhaps not realizing how invisible she can be.

Dusk Haven gets along well with Lucid Dream, and the two of them can often be found snuggling or grooming each other. They’re both very affectionate, but Dusk Haven is usually a little more reserved, and vastly more calm.

True to his name, Chaos Incarnate both looks and acts like a complete disaster. He’s incredibly mischievous and has little regard for his own safety—even Star Runner balks at his behaviour. He does everything in his power to get into trouble and cause disturbances, and loves testing boundaries. He’s had multiple near-death experiences, but it hasn’t dissuaded him in the slightest from causing mischief and trying to get into places he’s not allowed.

Despite his stubborn and annoying personality, Chaos Incarnate rarely wants to actually upset anyone, and will quickly change from antagonistic to friendly and apologetic if he causes anyone to get overly angry or distressed. It’s all just a big game to him, and he’s here to have a good time. Zil and Lance frequently have to drag him out of whatever trouble he’s gotten himself into, and often have to put a harness on him when they travel by settlements, lest he tear up an entire town.

An oddly perfect combination of his parents’ dispositions, Exotic Azalea does well on his own and with others. He’s clever and independent, and certainly doesn’t mind doing his own thing, but he never gets annoyed by company, and in fact loves getting attention. He never seeks it out, but as soon as someone gives him affection, he happily returns it.

Although he’s incredibly easy-going, Exotic Azalea is also pretty protective of his herd, and won’t hesitate to fight any would-be predators. He might not have the raw strength of his opponents, but he’s agile and cunning, and both his hooves and horns can do some damage. That’s not to say he’s inherently wary or aggressive towards strangers, but the moment something shows signs of hurting his herd, he gets between them, ready to retaliate if needed. Luckily, Zil and Lance are also very diligent, and will quickly take over any battles that may occur.
