»About.
Cors is a gentle, bright dragon, but contrary to his introverted nature, he is a captive of his “Troubles,” his uncontrollable magic energy. Cors keeps to his library at all times, rarely leaving the safety of Sighn’s Athenaeum.
When it comes to the bizarre inner workings of his library, Cors can’t explain why it acts as it does, but he has his theories. His intention to construct the small cottage was to contain the overflow energy emanating from within himself. Cors’ most popular theory is that the building is a kind of circuit. The energy flows out of Cors uncontrollably and has to travel through matter, only being expressed in other forms of energy like work, light, or heat. The specially built walls are the outer circuit, the barrier the energy cannot pass because it has the rest of circuit to easily move through. In comparison to the walls, smaller objects like the shelves or books will exhibit changes as the energy runs through them and becomes other forms of energy.
Books float around, move from shelf to shelf, or disappear from the building entirely. Quite regularly now, Cors finds books, scrolls, runic notebooks, and other objects of the like he has never seen. He didn’t put them there, and for once his theories have run dry. From the inside it has become obvious that the building had grown past its walls. His library once only a few shelves, had morphed into a maze of them; Shelves that shift from wall to wall or floor to ceiling without warning, inexplicably allowing stairs and doors to emerge from between them. Cors likes it. It’s interesting--challenging. There’s enough room for all his books.

His best friend is Bribe.

»Origin.
Cors' skin constantly rippled with energy even from a young, un-trained age. Bright pink lightning strikes set afire the nest and nearby objects levitated in his presence, orbiting around the room when he cried. Macropsia kept him sleepless, and false stars lit up the ceiling when he gave up on sleep. The Troubles that followed his every step only grew more fervent and dangerous as Cors aged. His clan never wanted him to leave despite the danger he posed. In fact the clan’s theologists and theorists urged Cors to stay with them, acclaiming they would find a way to help him while also studying him along the way. Cors wanted to believe them, but his gut implored him to leave anyway. These quirks were uncontrollable, and the thought of causing injury to any being filled his heard with lead. Leaving was all he could do.
Cors told only a few that he was leaving, knowing the whole clan would worry. He chose solitude for some time believing he couldn’t hurt anyone if there was no one around to hurt, but his Troubles found a way. Cors fled the Starfall Isles after a fiery accident that might have reduced the entire Starwood Strand in star-ridden ashes. After that, he wandered aimless through much of Sornieth. His reputation preceded him and was unwelcome in most towns. For years he lived like a runaway, searching for a place he didn’t know, although he imagined it was and accepting home, incapable of his destruction.
While traveling, Cors developed his “circuit walls” theory which, if successful, would allow him to live with his Troubles. In the jungles of the Viridian Labyrinth, Cors found acceptance with a secluded clan, and it was here that he would test his theory. Cors constructed a sturdy, stone cottage in the same mossy cobbled-thatched roof style. A unique contraption in and of itself, the simple looking cottage was built from the ground up by Cors himself, using arcane materials and instruments. Although Cors rarely prided himself in his arcane abilities, this intricate construction provided a fantastic solution.
Cors’ hypothesis was correct. The building became his home as well as a library in order to idle away his time. As long as he stayed within the arcane-infused walls of his cottage, his erratic, magical energy would be contained. After years of running, and fear, and funny pink scorch marks, Cors found what he had been looking for; an indestructible and accepting home, in the Enclave.

Notes:
-May his magic eventually kill him? Because of the bright cracks and ripples in his skin, would it not be valid to assume that the energy within him is slowly destroying the mortal vessel in within which it struggles to be contained? Then again, maybe it is simply a creative physical representation of how magically endowed he is? Almost literally overflowing with energy.

-Another example of the goat eye mutation. Believed to represent an element’s most basic, fundamental attributes. For Arcane: Curiosity, unpredictability, inspiration

"Creativity = Imagination + Intelligence"
“I can’t really control the chaos, but I can contain it.”
“There are certain rooms here, I doubt it’s endless space. But it would be pointless to map it out.”
(Worried JonTron voice) "These books just keep showin' up in my house, man!"
-Good friends with Ruyen bc they're both so gentle and kind. This one is quieter though.
-Has an above average sized vocabulary
-Loves a good antique shop
-Hobbies include but are not limited to: Being a weather nerd and a painter
-Bribe just sorta hangs around and runs errands for (t)his home bo(d)y
-Bribe runs a Sorienth news stand outside of Cors' library. The news is Sornieth wide, this is just one of the newsstands within a Viridian Labyrinth Clan. The Sornieth Courant
-Cors journals, but is more of a reader than a writer. Though someone keeps teleporting mysterious short stories to him and him alone. He thinks it's because of his world-ending copy editing skillz

Cors, does it hurt your body when you experience surges of energy?
59483078p.png?mtime=XsX0eQAAM7A.png He raised his goggles and other various lenses and rested them atop his brow. "Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It's quite odd, and inconsistent. It sounds cliche, but I can tell I am almost constantly overflowing with energy, though not always with much force. Usually it's a soft flow maybe with a distant ping of irritation like a bug bite. Sometimes it's a slow steady stream, a trickle. Occasionally I'll awake in the middle of the night feeling a powerful surging sensation across my skin, like I'm standing beneath a massive waterfall--without the pressure pushing me down." He stopped to clean his monocle and hung it on his horn. "Do you ever get restless legs? I suppose it could feel a bit like that."
Fernbrake wrote:
hi Cors! just how many books do you own?
59483078p.png "It has to be incalculable. I started out with a humble collection I think. It was just my cart and satchel filled with all I could carry before I came to the Enclave. I'd say maybe thirty miscellaneous books and scrolls. I collected more after the construction of the library, and either I'm a pack-rat (which is likely) or they've started appearing in the empty shelves. I feel like the latter is more likely."
RallraxAuri wrote:
Cors, what would you do if all of your books suddenly disappeared all at once?
59483078p.png Cors quickly grew worried, his goggles raised up by his brow as if they were about to take flight from his forehead.
"Why I can't imagine what I would do without my books! These books have been my livelihood ever since I was little--all my studies and questions and dreams have been sparked by these books and scrolls. Just the books themselves were the solution to my Troubles! Maybe some of them I could part with, everyone knows even their least favorite book is only good about three times, but the rest of them... Oh Arcanist, I don't want to imagine it. But I should... Mother always said it was good to plan for even the most ridiculous possibilities. I'll have to draw up some charts...Thank you." Cors quickly disappeared into the back of the library.
