One morning, when a ridgeback hatchling was putzing along the beach, he saw pink crystals in a pile of sand. He didn't think much of it- on an Arcane beach, such things commonly wash ashore- and so he stuck his talons in, intending to make a sandcastle. Except he quickly realized it wasn't sand, but fur, and he was looking at a giant lump of unmoving dragon. A gaoler woke up to the sight of a hatchling running far, far, away. He knew not his name, his history, anything; only the sun he felt and the sand caking every inch of his body. He shakily stretched his limbs one at a time, circulation slowly returning, and he felt air fill his lungs once more. He sensed bits of arcane energy flitting about. Uneasiness, the sense something important just slipped his mind, like details of a dream right after waking up- and pink shards growing on his back. He wasn't sure if those were always there. When a small group of dragons returned with the hatchling hiding behind their legs, the gaoler was weak and confused, but responsive. He was taken in and cared for. |

Since he doesn't remember anything, let alone his name, he has been affectionately nicknamed "Sandy" or "Sandyface". He has learned some other things about himself though. Namely, he seems to be intrinsically attuned to Arcane, specifically the Crystalspine Reaches. He can see the energy in the air; he can see the magic reserves in any dragon. He's made himself useful by predicting when the ocean will be turbulent, or how the behavior of the cliffs will change.
He's made some more friends, too. Aside from the clan's beachgoers, he's also befriended Mira. Once, he was walking along the cliffside, then the next thing he knew, a giant piece of rubble was flying at him. He was rescued in the nick of time by Mira's father, Rhydian. He fussed over the gaoler a little and then left with a serious expression; sort of an awkward first meeting. He currently just spends his days on the beach trying to rediscover himself while his rescuers-turned-friends pamper him. |

- woke up on the beach w no memories and with pink shards growing on his back which he wasn't sure he had before
- weak and confused, he was taken care of by the other beachgoers for a while
- still doesnt know what his name is. is affectionately nicknamed "sandy", "sandyface", or "fuzz"
- intrinsically attuned to the arcane energy of the beach/sea and the surrounding crystalspine reaches, unsure if that's a new power or not
- also connected to his lion's mane seeker familiar
- kinda just spends his time on the beach trying to discover himself while his rescuers/friends pamper him
