Biography
UNNAMED
AKA "SANDY"
AKA "SANDY"
|
One morning, when a ridgeback hatchling was putzing along the beach, he saw pink crystals in a pile of sand. He didn't think much of it- on an Arcane beach, such things commonly wash ashore- and so he stuck his talons in, intending to make a sandcastle. Except he quickly realized it wasn't sand, but fur, and he was looking at a giant lump of unmoving dragon. | - - - |

The beachgoers thought he was an oversized tundra. It was a time before Ancient breeds became fully reintroduced; knowledge of them was not yet widespread. After cleaning him off and seeing just how different he was, they panicked and shoved him into the first lodging they could find for the night: a hammock outside Nyth's cabin, who was the only one unenthusiastic about the idea. The mysterious dragon didn't have reason to complain, though. He rocked gently on the hammock, fur spilling through the netting, as he contemplated life, the universe, everything. Magic- there was magic everywhere. He could see it in the air. He could see it in every dragon he encountered that day. Everything in Arcane, the land and the sea, seemed to be speaking; but the gaoler was the only one who could hear it. He didn't know a single thing about himself. And so that night he closed his eyes, breathed in deeply, and simply experienced all the senses dancing behind his eyelids. The next morning, he woke to cawing: a Lion's Mane Seeker atop his head. The gaoler immediately felt connected to it, somehow. They became inseparable from that day on. |
Since he couldn't remember anything, let alone his name, he was affectionately nicknamed "Sandy", and the seeker "Soggy". He learned some other things about himself though. Namely, he seems to be intrinsically attuned to Arcane, specifically the Crystalspine Reaches. He's made himself useful by predicting the unstable arcane energies in the ocean and the skies. Curiously, the shards on his back glow slightly when he uses magic. He's had no luck discovering what those shards are, or why he has them; they're nothing like Sherbert's gembond, so they got the clan leader to investigate. However, after seeing the fae he was left with nothing but a sinking feeling he attributed to confusion.
But on the bright side, he's made some more friends. Aside from the clan's beachgoers, he's also befriended Mira. Once, he was walking along the cliffside when suddenly a piece of rubble fell towards him. He was rescued in the nick of time by Mira's father, Rhydian. He fussed over the gaoler a little and then left with a serious expression; sort of an awkward first meeting. He currently spends his days on the beach trying to rediscover himself while his rescuers-turned-friends pamper him. He's pleasant company, though he tends to follow dragons around like a lost puppy. |
