Hawkins

Hawkins was born to two permanent residents that weren't mates. It was an accidental clutch that both parents regretted immediately, but Hawkins' decisions to stay within the clan caused problems. His parents fight when they're around each other, but individually they both adore their son. He spends more time with his father, however, because he knows being around his mother (though she undoubtedly loves him) causes strife. Mazikeen had another mate when she bred with Stallion, whereas Stallion was single at the time of Hawkins' hatching. So his presence is a reminder to her and her true mate that she was infidelious. Nevertheless, her true mate Azeban has accepted Hawkins and does not treat him poorly but rather acknowledges him as sort of a "step-son".

In personality, Hawkins is very much like his dad. He's wild and impetuous. He's not afraid of water, danger, or "illegal" activities. This has led him to be a regular attendee at the Underground Fighting Pit in the Demonic Woods. He's made many friends this way and also many more just in the Demonic Woods where he resides. He's also a competent thief and an overall rabble-rouser. In fact, he's went down the pirate path despite warnings from Corsair, a former pirate. His parents are a bit irresponsible however, so have not discouraged his choice of life.

He is very bonded with his familiar, whom he named "Bumble" because it "bumbles around". He actually stole Bumble from another ship during one pirate attack: intrigued by the enchanted machinery. He met Thieny through Bumble in fact. She had tried to fix it and realized it was alive and followed Hawkins around. She liked how confident and chill Hawkins was and found his personality charismatic. He also expressed interest in steampunk and her skills, so he could learn how to better care for his familiar. Bumble identifies her as a friend and shows excitement when she visits, following her around as well.

On one of his adventures, while he was ransacking a nearby ship he and his friends had just attacked, Hawkins made an unexpected little friend. He had no idea what the little creature was but he loved its energy and mischievous nature--much like his own. He swooped it onto his tail and took it with him (yeah, he stole it). But that's the one treasure he will absolutely never regret taking. He loves his little furry ferret friend.

A bit later, Hawkins came across a feathered friend. He was admiring it as a merchant's stall, then mentioned it to the stall-keeper. "That's a pretty bird you've got here," He complimented. The surly Snapper chuffed and grumbled under his breath. The bird looked at Hawkins and repeated "pretty bird!" cheerfully. It made him chuckle. "How much you want for it?" He thought to himself that if the bird wasn't for sale, he'd come back later and steal it. The grumpy Snapper purposely body-checked the perch that the bird stood on, letting it tumble towards Hawkins. The bird flew to his head and looked into his eyes, reciting "pretty bird!". The merchant mumbled something about it being his problem now, then closed his stall. Hawkins was more than happy to add it to his crew. His little friend didn't mind the addition neither.
