If there's one word to describe Cobalt it's: grumpy. Now don't get me wrong, if he's had enough sleep and had a decent rest then he's usually fine, but moments like that are few and far between. This is because Cobalt runs the blacksmith within the inn and is usually swamped with orders from travellers passing through. Cobalt takes pride in his work and ensures that every piece he creates is a mini masterpiece, but this often leaves him sleep deprived and grumpy.


However, just because Cobalt is a bit of grump doesn't mean he can't be kind. More often than not he finds himself doing orders for free because he feels sympathy towards the travellers. He knows better than anyone the value of personality rather than appearance due to an upbringing in a fae clan where he was treated differently due to what he was.

He decided one day to leave his judgemental clan and set off out into the world. Cobalt's journey took him all over Sornieth, and he always tried to keep his distance from other dragons. Until one day when he was flying through a rocky canyon a rockfall struck him hard in the shoulder. He found himself pinned under a rock, unable to fly or move. He felt himself growing weak over the next few days and eventually passed out.

He awoke a few days later in an incredibly warm room. There was a pale blue snapper in the room stirring a pot of what smelled like stew. Cobalt tried to lift himself up but found he wasn't strong enough to get out of bed. The snapper rushed over to him and began fussing over him, feeding him stew and changing his bandages. She revealed that her name was Daisy and she ran a blacksmith with her mate Spot. Cobalt was antsy being trapped in one place for two long and was eager to leave.

Eventually he was growing stronger. And to alleviate the boredom he started to pay more attention to the smithing business and found himself building new skills. He found he was really good at this and the others praised him for the work he was doing! But, he was a wanderer at heart and knew he wouldn't be able to keep himself here forever. The lack of new visitors eventually led him to growing bored. He vowed in that moment to spread the word about the wonderful dragons who had taken care of him and always spread sympathy and kindness wherever he went.

He travelled for a while and soon found himself in the Southern Ice Fields. The communities within the Ice Fields were very closed off and isolated which made it difficult for Cobalt to find anywhere to stay, until he happened upon the inn. The inn was accepting of everyone and even had a small market place for merchants to sell their wares. Cobalt knew he needed to stay here. Travellers who needed armour or weapons or just help in general. The dragons who worked here were kind and it gave Cobalt many opportunities to fulfil his promise and help as many dragons as possible. Perhaps one day he'll go travelling again, but until then he's happy to hear tales of travels from others and help them however he can.
