Astra has always considered herself as a high class dragon of taste. She knows what looks good and she knows how to put an outfit together. Turns out she also knows how to put a good couple together too! Her insight and careful thinking have created many happy couples in the past who are perfect together! However, she hasn't always had the same luck in love herself.


In fact, when she first met her mate Cobalt her initial thoughts of him were less than pleasant. As a blacksmith, he was often covered in grime from a hard days work, and the long hours made him sleepy and a bit grumpy. When Astra first realised he would be staying at the inn permanently to help travellers, she was in shock. How could Frostbite and Raina allow this vagabond to remain in this fine establishment full time? Surely it would negatively impact the business.

But, Astra had no say in the matter because, she was just a matchmaker who worked in the inn at the end of the day. But like most dragons who work in the Black Frost Inn, Astra loves her home dearly, and she respects it's owners highly, so she put her opinions about Cobalt to the back of her mind and elected to ignore him for as long as she could. Which, turns out wasn't very long at all.

One night, the inn was celebrating the Crystalline Gala with a huge party for all of the staff in the inn. Everyone was told to clean themselves up and dress smartly for a special party. Astra dressed in her finest silks and jewels made her way down to the party when she stop to speak to her friends Mitte and Elanna. She spoke for a while before feeling a tap on her shoulder, and a bright blue ridgeback asked her to dance.

Whoever this was, he was the most brilliant shade of blue she had ever seen! It was dazzling and she knew she couldn't turn down this opportunity. Throughout the dance she was shocked at how elegant and gentle this other dragon was, but this was a staff party and she didn't know of any other ridgebacks who worked at the inn except for, "Cobalt?" she questioned quietly "yes?" he responded confused.

She was in shock. Surely that grubby blacksmith and this vibrant dragon couldn't be the same dragon? The two of them ended up dancing and talking for most of the night and as the night drew to a close Astra knew she had to say something, "I want to apologise, I've completely ignored you and been rather rude ever since you arrived at the inn, it was rude and foolish of me, I'm sorry." Astra looked at the floor, ashamed of her previous behaviour when she heard him chuckle.
"Truthfully I was a bit hurt by your behaviour, but I was so busy with work that I haven't exactly been the most outgoing dragon."
Astra stared at him in surprise, she expected him to never want to see her again! "Perhaps," she said softly "we could spend some more time together?"
He looked thoughtful and Astra knew that she had pushed her luck too far, "I think I would like that," Cobalt smiled "I might have to work around my busy schedule, but spending time with you seems worth it!". Astra felt herself smile widely, and she vowed from then on to never judge another dragon based on appearance ever again.
