Empire of Death: Cult of Faerie

Born in the Ice Flight to dragons with stars and sparkly scales he had a happy life growing up alongside a sister. Always a quieter hatchling, he would mostly spend his days reading and studying. Many of his peers thought it boring or teased him about secretly being one of the stereotypical Light Flight dragons who poured over their texts. Renaissance didn't mind. He'd learn more about the clan's history and eventually, broader history of the Ice Flight and Sornieth itself than they ever would. The past fascinated him more than fantasy tales ever could.
His father would leave them when he was almost old enough to journey out on his own. Renaissance almost didn't even notice, too wrapped up in his growing collection of books and scrolls. The loss really didn't touch him much, as the two didn't hold a close bond. However, the young imperial would use the parting to start his own preparations to leave. Gathering his books and scrolls he'd set off to learn more of history and see what lay beyond his home. For a short time, he stayed in the Water Flight. Forming a budding romance with a nocturne and having a nest of three with her while he did some research in the coastal city. However their relationship ended quickly with her disappearing one day without a trace, taking their hatchlings with her. Disappointed and grieving, he'd cut his original plans to go to Light short and instead would end up in the Shadow Flight. It was there he'd join the Empire of Death under Lyric's sub-clan, the Cult of Faerie. A strange name for a place that wasn't actually a cult. |

He'd form a library within the clan, building a collection of history among other genres of literature. Many visitors to his library would consider him to be ghostly with his colors and his quiet movements despite his long imperial body. Ironic, considering he'd begin to notice hauntings within his walls. A start to an interesting new subject of study for him upon finally meeting the specter phantom, Shard. The tundra would often accompany him through the building and help Renaissance with both his history studies and learning about the Phantom species and its variants. It turned out, ghosts knew quite a bit about history! Although, some where friendlier than others. Shard would even introduce the imperial to his mate, Corporeal—another specter, though she was once a skydancer in life. His studies grew extensive. Sometimes he'd even venture out to find more and more of these variants. There were even manifestations that had formed back before modern breeds had been a thought in the deities' minds. Scrolls and scrolls of this information would be placed in his library. Detailed encounters of these beings along with traits, strengths and weaknesses, abilities, and what most of the variants were like. Specters like Shard seemed docile and friendly while Poltergeists were often mischievous. But there were more dangerous phantoms like the Possessed or Shade Spirits that wouldn't hesitate to do harm. Renaissance continues to run his library and work on his studies alongside his ghostly friend. Together he hopes to create a large collection for others to come enjoy. Sometimes he's even had a few Supernatural Investigators stop by for his Phantoms studies specifically. Of course, he still tries to collect other genres as well for those who aren't as fascinated with history and ghostly research. His library contains something for every dragon to enjoy. |
