Rowan was abandoned on the grounds of a church by his birth parents. A nun found him nestled in a rowan bush on Imbolc and took it as a sign from Brigit; they named the baby after the plant that sheltered him from the bitter cold, and they raised him as an acolyte. He became a priest at the age of 20, and since then, he has been working to heal the sick in his community.

Rowan, on the surface, seems to be the typical kind-hearted priest. However, he is quick to break that facade, revealing his true sarcastic and stubborn personality. One of his greatest pet peeves is being taken for granted, which he feels happens incredibly often to clerics like himself. He will heal your wounds, but be prepared for a scolding.

Throughout his life, Rowan has continually nursed a grudge against his biological parents. His anger does not flare up and then die quickly; rather, it burns slowly and steadily over a long time. That being said, he will gradually warm up to those who befriend him, igniting a fiery passion to shield them from harm. Even his lectures are just another way he shows he cares. Though he claims that his humble, selfless demeanor is simply an act, he has a heart of gold buried beneath his prickly exterior.

"Am I the only member of this party with a modicum of common sense?"
Did I just make a fandragon for my DnD character? Yes, yes I did.
