Biography
Mei
Future Acolyte of the Cult of Mor.
Amazing art by KyuuBird.
" I don't care what you think. I'm chasing after my dreams."
If one were to look at Mei's upbringing, they likely wouldn't have guessed the path that she would take. Seemingly ordinary in every single way, filled with love and support from her friends and family, Mei could have lived an entirely boring life without any effort. But she didn't. Rebelling against the routine and safety of her daily existence, Mei became involved with the Cult of Mor- Or, perhaps, it's more accurate to say that she began her entanglement with the cult through a group of fanatics. Learning about the cult's leader (Njada) from a group of others who had learned of her, it didn't take long for Mei to become completely enamored by the idea of the goddess.
Dazzled by the concept of rebellion and danger that Njada seemed to embody, Mei fell deeper and deeper into the ranks of the these worshippers- And it was only a matter of time until someone suggested that they summon the entity that they idolized to their side. Knowing that such a thing would require certain sacrifices, Mei was the first to volunteer herself for such a role, too caught up in her daydreams to give the harsh realities of this task a single passing thought. With everything seemingly in place, darkness was awaited, candles were lit, and blood was shed.
By all means, Mei should have died that night - But, instead, she was the only one who lived.
The ritual had worked and Njada had been summoned: The cult's leader enthralling everyone with her presence just moments before she killed all of those who had been involved in this barbaric ritual. Only Mei, their chosen sacrifice, was spared. In a scene filled with blood, nursing wounds meant to kill her, Mei was offered a chance to join the real Cult of Mor. Still holding nothing but admiration for Njada (in fact, if anything, Mei found herself even more drawn to her after what had just happened), the coatl took her offer without ever looking back: Officially becoming one of her most loyal followers.
That said, there's a difference between blind idolization and following the true teachings of the Cult of Mor... And Mei still has a long way to go until she's lived up to the potential that Njada saw in her that night.
