“Over half of the lairs residents are familiar and beastfolk and as such, a separate collective was formed. They organise themselves more or less, but for the ongoing peaceful co-existence, their Federation created a council. These individuals meet at the Assembly with the dragons.”
Qaondril • Hive Leader Softly dedicated to the peaceful relations with dragons. He’s calm and patient and fiercely protective of his people.
Eodri • First Warrior He’s brusque and not easy to get on with, but he’s a master with a spear and capable military strategist which makes him invaluable.
Sidhe • Nature Advisor The growing things in the lair are her primary concern. Sometimes she fudges that a bit to include kids though.
Jahan • Supply Advisor He runs the *cough* black market. Sharp of wit and good at haggling, he’ll poison you before he gives up a deal.
Bryn • Beastfolk Ambassador The first of the beastfolk to push for communication, Bryn fought an uphill battle but has the progress to show for it. A pacifist.
Passage • Quality of Life Rep Cheery and optimistic, she is always there for anyone in need, often acting as a guide for those who have gotten lost.
Kelby • Aquatic Advisor A teller of bad puns, the representative of aquatic life is a quietly bubbly girl and never seems too bothered by anything.
Tek • Avian Advisor Artistic and curious, Tek wanted to see the world and was integral in establishing trade routes. One of only two male harpies in the lair.

The Hive

Qaondril • Hive Leader Bonded to Kieri, this giant beetle organises her guard and is almost always by her side. He leads a group of beetles entirely dedicated to keeping her safe.
Elika • Weapons Master Ensures those meeting Kieri are unarmed while the Hive is, Elika is a close confidant, personal bodyguard and good friend. Also a bit of a nerd.
Caelin • Primary Caster A pirrik gifted by Tarryn, Caelin is highly adept with magic and breaking spells. Though it can’t speak, it wilts near danger.
Tarlith • Master of Whispers She’s a spy basically. Listening to gossip (and starting rumours) is her job. Information is power. She likes flower crowns.
Ko • First Watcher With two heads comes lots of detection power. Capable of camouflage and producing poison, Ko is hard to spot and very dangerous.
Ocoran • Request Board Informs Kieri when something needs attending and keeps her affairs in order. He is also the bird trusted with delicate correspondence.
The Federation
“Given the large population of beastfolk in the canyon, a considerable deal of the work in the lair is undertaken by them. They contribute greatly to society and the clan’s way of life. These are just a few of the most notable individuals.”
Torna • Beastclan Priestess The Federation representative for their cultural and religious beliefs, Torna tends to the shrines of their gods at the Tree and educates the curious.
Hatchet • Combat Instructor He runs mock combat drills with youngsters and the clan’s warriors to keep their skills sharp. The kids love it and they can’t do much damage to him.
Alar • Cavalry Captain Leader of the centaur warriors, Alar’s troops are some of the finest around and are truly impressive to watch. Also scary good in a fight.
Passage • Willing Ear Somehow, she always seems to know if someone is troubled. Sometimes she can help, sometimes not. But regardless, she’ll be there to try.
Anaya • Creative Instructor A refined, elegant creature, she’s incredibly captivating. She uses this to get her way and she’ll share those secrets if asked. Also teaches dance.
Scripture • Record Keeper The chronicler, he keeps the lair’s entire history well organised and without any witty additions or elaborations. Lives in the library.
Ellanda • Mage Consultant Fearfully capable, Ellanda is more interested in knowledge and theory. She works with others to control and hone their gifts.
Apple • Stallkeeper Ji Qeng’s assistant, she looks after the stall when he’s away making a sale elsewhere. And she gets good deals too. Could you deny that face?
Achara • Blacksmith A skilled and sometimes waspish smith, Achara keeps the clan’s amoury well stocked and some of her wares can be purchased.
Lai • Inventor/ Mechanic Cheerful and wild, she invents crazy machines and also keeps the automatons running. She has an army of machines at her disposal.
Capris • Excavator/ Mason Head of a team, they clear away rubble, tidy up the ruins and expand as necessary. He is the chief stone mason, as well.
Tricky • Special Effects She makes things fancy. Sparkly lights and glitter magic and don’t forget the smoke effects! Atmosphere is everything.
Warwick • Lunar Guard Some sort of ethereal spirit, Warwick is never around in the daylight. Instead, he patrols the clan at night, luminous yet undetectable.
Qyura • Fisher A true gift when it comes to spear fishing and trapping things in nets, she has respect for populations of sea life and is fascinated by sharks.
Irin • Forager/Insect Catcher Excellent at picking out plants for all kinds of uses, poisons as well as food. She’s also masterful at collecting insects. Both to eat and for study.
Salem • Trapper He and Fen create some ingenious traps to use around the lair. Mostly that’s for food. Sometimes it’s for trespassers.
Ildir • Cartographer An adventurous fellow, he travels all over Sornieth creating maps. Sometimes he finds them instead. Aphid loves them all.
T’vi • Anthropologist Spreadsheet enthusiast and giant nerd when it comes to numbers and data. She keeps track of things no one else seems to care about. Like population growth.
Ori • Nurse Often the go-to for beastfolk healing, Ori has a near encyclopaedic knowledge of injuries and illnesses which makes her a valuable assistant.
Tallow • Recipe Keeper Potions can be bought from Lotus but for those looking to make their own, recipes can be acquired from Tallow. If you want it badly enough.
Skittish • Deeps Guide One of few other residents of the Deeps, she is the only one to know the dark maze. Shy and quiet, heed her guidance or get lost forever.
Jezza • Carpenter Works with furniture, scaffolding and shipwrights to keep everything in order. Terse, she’s a goat of few words. But they’re all very good words.
Farah • Storyteller A culture buff, she has collected stories from all different places and peoples. She is also a master of sound effects when telling stories.
Zahla • Artist Talented with paints and charcoal, she creates astounding portraits and landscapes and sometimes more unusual original works.
Crew of the Peripeteia
“Buying things legally is boring. The clan’s pirate crew are a cheerful lot, not fully endorsed by the leadership, but good at making money. It’s all pure profit, hey Aphid.”
Kairos • Captain Charming and personable, Kairos is a well-respected captain. She’s good at what she does, just not very fearsome.
Aefi • Quartermaster/ Trader Her customer service face is terrifyingly nice. She’s efficient, silver-tongued and demanding, but she’ll get a good deal over your dead body if she must.
Tamorin • Navigator With a big smile, cheerful personality and a fondness for dancing, she doesn’t seem dangerous. Her sword is not for show, however.
Sehna • Raider/ Diver Little, fast and stealthy, she prefers the unfair kinda fight. Expert with small spaces, she loots sunken ships. Likes shiny things.
Dascles • Master of Armoury Used to run an illegal circus, now wrangles deck hands and their armoury. Good at fudging numbers, he takes care of their books.
Lori • Engineer Cheeky and fond of pranks, she keeps the ship running when she isn’t up to no good. Creates lots of nasty traps for use in battle.
Jaelyr • First Mate/Shaman Quiet and careful, she wipes memories to aid their thefts and fixes up injuries. Good at convincing folks they saw nothing.
Ke Vhek • Master of Arms The ship’s most feared fighter, he’s a whirlwind in battle and a softly sarcastic grouch the rest of the time. Trains the others in combat.
Gara • Harbour Enforcer Not on the ship, she keeps the harbour safe for them, laying out bribes, cracking heads, dodging tax officials.
Oura • Fence/ Informant Runs a garden store in the Hewn City as a front for their trade and storage of stolen goods. Gentle and kind but no pushover.
Marron • Boatswain Longsuffering foreman, organises work and oversees care of equipment and maintenance. Quietly frustrated by the twins.
Rahol • Carpenter/ Cooper Clever with wood and smarter with his words, Rahol is often in the rigging. Thinks he’s a better fighter than he is.
The caster will focus on the surrounding magical energies, generating a large amount of Breath. Reduces physical damage dealt by 75% for two turns.
