Taken in by an elderly alchemist, Lucas became Laurentius’ apprentice and assistant in everything. His thirst for knowledge is matched only by his enthusiasm to put that knowledge to good use and Laurentius worked closely with Lady de Rune to do just that. After Laurentius’ passing, Lucas had to figure out on his own what ‘good use’ meant, to discern that from ‘pursuit of power’. But he’s a clever lad, and it doesn’t take a genius to know that the de Runes don’t deserve the hand they were dealt, that they are a ‘good use’. He may not be as physically capable as his friends, but that’s not going to stop him. Besides, knowing how to make medicines is an invaluable thing for such brazen idiots as he’s found himself with. And while he might not excel at social situations, at least he’s not making them worse.
