amir may be an elegant prince, but his power seems mostly superficial. most dragons will obey his orders, but he rarely asks for anything more than for his favorite snack to be prepared. nobody questions his authority, but there isn't really much to question. bring up his name and most dragons will laugh and tell a funny story about him.

if you ask him to so much as step out of the way for you, he'll refuse because of his "princely authority". you've got to frame your requests carefully if you want him to do anything. syrah's an expert at it.

the empress he supposedly answers to is a different story. nobody else will bring her up. amir will only do so in a whispered voice. when you push him to talk more about this mysterious figure, he freezes up, as if drawing a blank.

there are only two dragons amir willingly listens to. the mysterious empress, of course, and hecate.
