Biography

Brenton

Rip out my guts and break all of my bones
Just to see what I'm made of,
Replace it with gold.
You're never gonna call me worthless, now I see that you were never worth it,
You can say what you want,
But the end starts here.

-Heroes For Hire; Rip Out My Guts

Genteel|Relaxed|Industrious
Brenton is an upper-class dragon living in a not so upper-class world. He is a gentle man at heart, and will always act in a gentlemanly manner, even though he is the only one who behaves that way. In Brenton's eyes, there is never a reason for discourtesy, and so even if someone else is being incredibly rude, Brenton will remain civil and polite. That's not to say he is bulletproof, however; he often takes things to heart, even when he shouldn't be, and will keep any worries and troubles he has to himself.

Despite this, Brenton is a relaxed dragon. He doesn't stress easy, and likes to take everything at a slow pace, which is often appreciated by others. His generally laid back personality makes him popular amongst the clan, and he is easy to socialize and talk to. Brenton volunteers and is volunteered for many jobs around the clan; he gives his best effort for every task he must complete, making him a valued member of the clan.

The Gentleman
Brenton hails from a upper-class family, and was taught from a young age the rules of etiquette. Despite the clan being a ragtag collection of individuals from many cultural backgrounds, Brenton insists on upholding his upbringing and doing his parents proud, even if he is the only one educated in such matters. Many of the others find it odd that he would persevere when no one else does or particularly cares, but Nisha finds Brenton's gentlemanly ways charming and delightful; each week they set aside a couple of hours just so Brenton can teach her etiquette, which she hopes will aid her when negotiating with other clans. Though she has picked up some of it with ease, she is far too energetic to be lady-like for long.

Councillor of Diplomacy
With his relaxed and polite nature, Brenton was an obvious choice for the Councillor of Diplomacy. His main role is to act as an ambassador for any one who needs it. Should a neighboring clan visit, or the Dusk Garden needs to travel to other lands, Brenton will always accompany, and will do most of the negotiations in league with Nisha and Meira. He is also in charge of overseeing any beastclan negotiations; while many of the local clans are hostile towards the dragon, it is Brenton's job to organize any meetings should the oppurtunity arise. He often relies on Virus's help as a translator.

The Forgotten Son

Brenton was born in the Molten Scar to a large, wealthy, upper-class clan. He was always well off, and took many things for granted; it wasn't Brenton's fault, he just didn't realize how lucky he actually was. However, Brenton was never really at home with his family. Being one of nine siblings, he was constantly overlooked in favor of his overachieving brothers and sisters. It's not that Brenton was bad at what he did, it was just that one of his siblings always did it better.

As a result, Brenton went to desperate measures to be recognized, but to no avail. His parents never really seemed interested, no matter what he did. One day when he asked to join his older brother on a patrol, it became apparent that his parents didn't think he'd ever achieve anything; a revelation that both shocked and hurt Brenton. It was then and there that he decided to leave the clan; it was an impulsive decision on Brenton's part, but he had to prove to his parents that he would achieve something.

The problem was that Brenton had never lived on his own before. Suddenly he had to find his own food, his own shelter, and fend off beasts and monsters that were after his resources. Life was harsh for Brenton, but he couldn't consider returning home; his pride wouldn't allow it.

He didn't stay in one place for too long, and after a couple of months he found himself camping out in the Moonlight Promenade. Unfortunately, he was set upon by a patrol from The Clan of Fallen Ruins, who instantly attacked him and drove him from their territory. Brenton fled into the Tangled Woods, where the patrol lost interest and returned home, but Brenton was injured and completely lost. He searched desperately for somewhere to shelter and nurse his wounds, and just as he was about to give up, he found a small hollow in a cliff wall. He quickly entered, and was very surprised to find a clan living behind the small hollow.

Brenton was accepted into the clan immediately. Once Meira had taken care of his wounds, Brenton set about helping the others in anyway he could; he accompanied Neith on patrols and hunts, helped Meira gather plants and other supplies, and helped Nisha decorate the walls of their caves. His dedication is very appreciated throughout the clan, and he is regarded as a respectable and reliable member.

Though he has not made contact with his home clan since he left, Brenton still thinks of his parents and hopes that his efforts with the Dusk Garden Clan will make him a worthy dragon in their eyes.

"My wish is to be the best I can be; to be a dragon worthy of remembrance."
- Brenton
