- both were born in the shadowlands, but were not raised as shadowborns
- mother was the child of two wind army quartermasters, learned her seamstress trade from them

- defected to light during the dawn wars


- born Y55



- sailed merchant ships for her father
- as long as she didn't miss due dates, she was pretty much free to her own devices

- specialized in routes to the icefields
