A tough, hard-working lady who takes nothing from no-one. Ebrill is a blunt character, who takes her job a little too seriously but she knows what she's doing. The only way to really melt her hard exterior is buying her a drink or helping around the ranch, where she turns into a fun-loving (but still stern) "mom friend."

upbringing:
Ebrill was raised by her very loving, caring father who attempted everything he possibly could to make her childhood perfect. Though his definition of perfect wasn't everyone's cup of tea, it was still Ebrill's life plan regardless - be it for herself or for her father. She wasn't born into farm work, though her father encouraged it as best as he possibly could as he worked previously as a ranchhand in the past. He referred to it as "building character."

When she was of age, Ebrill bought a local homestead called Dogwood which worked primarily with lumber, though they did have meat options as well. While the work was hard and she struggled to find anyone to even remotely help her, she enjoyed the work - more than anyone really could. She managed the ranch and did physical labor as well as overseeing everyone she did manage to hire.

One of the people she hired, whose name she's since forgotten due to never talking about her, was her eventual downfall at Dogwood. They had fallen head over heels in love despite knowing better than that. They worked together, ate together, and eventually moved in with each other. After a year of being together, they had a child together who they had unfortunately lost - which led to them parting and never seeing each other. Ebrill stores both resentment as well as still-lingering love for them, but she doesn't exactly think she'd ever even recognize their face after being separated for so long.

While still dealing with the grief of losing two loved ones, her father had also passed away. The two had kept in very close contact with frequent visits, so it was an even harder blow on top of it. Eventually, Ebrill decided to sell off Dogwood and moved a good while away from it to purchase Highland Post.

She's worked here for several years now, though her staff has mostly been on the ever-revolving side. She's learned to keep her work and personal life to herself, so even the permanent staff she has don't even really know about her story.

on the ranch:
Her job on the ranch is primarily just overseeing everything and paperwork (mostly bills). On the ranch, they raise primarily meat animals, though egg-layers also give a minor side profit.

trivia:

kayler gets away with a little bit more than a typical hand does on this ranch because ebrill sees her as her adopted daughter.
aragonite and ebrill are very close friends, with the latter turning to the older woman for advice more often than not.
