Caught in a nightmare that made Sisyphus's situation seem like a dream, Proserpina barely remembers life without constant torment. Her endless torture finally resolved when a blustery Essa stumbled onto her prison. Mindless with relief, she has completely relied on Essa for her reintroduction into the real world.

Proserpina frequently relies on both Dove and Myrrh, the other immortals, to gain clues and information on the demonic entity that haunts her dreams. They don't have the best relationship, mostly of colleagues, while Essa is much more suited to working as a go between.
Proserpina is hopelessly in love with Essa and is thankful for all the support she provides, but doesn't want to put Essa in the position of being beholden to someone so broken. Essa loves Proserpina, but doesn't want to put pressure on someone still healing from a traumatic situation.
