» Where Cicero brings the wisdom and careful guidence for the clan, Caligo brings the firm hand and strong leadership figure. He is the strong defence and protection that keep the clan and Cicero safe. The pair have loved and relied upon each other for years now and spend most of their time together, a strong couple to lead the clan through the cold wastes of the Southern Icefield

» Also a being of magic, in his youth Caligo traveled Sornieth to research magical creatures and dragons with strong magic attached to their element. He was a student for a long time, writing dissertations and research notes, curious about how different dragons could harness each elements energy to shape it to their own. During his travels as a young dragon, he met Cicero, a young blind dragon who seemed to wander the Southern Icefield without a care in the world. Cicero's relaxed nature and instinctual knowledge of Ice Magic quick interested Caligo, and they spent many months together, Caligo enthuiastically learning all he could from Cicero.

» Eventually, Caligo decided it was time to move on, continue looking into primal elemental magic, but he intended to keep in touch with Cicero, somehow. Between his long travels he came back visiting, bringing him gifts and stories of the world outside the ice, beautful music from the Windswept Plateu, spices from the Ashfall Wastes, floral plants that would survive the harsh conditions of Cicero's home from the Viridian Labarynth, and every so often new magic and research from his old home in the Starfall Isles. Once Ailia joined Cicero Caligo took to travelling further afield, writing his partner letters that Ailia could read and respond to.

» The pair functioned like this for a long time, spending years apart, seeing each other only in brief moments of connection when Caligo wasn't busy with his research. Neither of them really noticed when they started referring to the other as 'love' of when Ailia began introducing them as her Dads. They fell in line with each other so easily their love was obvious and Caligo longed for the day he could finish his work and just spend his life with his husband.

» That day came when Caligo had the bad luck to stumble into a fight, between a team of power mage Light dragons and some manifestations of the Shade. It was just bad luck, a simple misfire of a spell, out of the corner of the eye his hulking black form appeared to be another shade, and Caligo was struck down. Gold poured from his eyes and mouth, covering sections of his flesh as Caligo screamed, trying to fight back against it with his own magic. Horrified by what they'd done, the dragons begged Caligo to let them help him, to take him home to his clan for healing, and Caligo gave them the only name that came to mind, the only family and home he'd ever known; Cicero.

» Caligo awoke sore and tired. He felt cold and his vision was blurred but he could feel the fluffy warmth of Cicero at his side. When he realised his companion had awoken, Cicero explained what had happened. The light dragons had dragged him all the way to the Southern Icefield, searching for Cicero and his clan. When they found him, Caligo had been in a bad way. The healers Nauta and Cael tended to his wounds, with help from Destiny, a dragon recently joined to the clan who was familiar with light magic. They had saved his life, but hadn't been able to fix all of it. Gold now plated where some flesh had been. His vision was partially obscured and where metal met flesh, it hurt, but he was alive, and he was home. His ability to travel and research magic lost, and him and Cicero getting on in years, Caligo now spends his time and energy protecting his mate and clan, and keeping everyone in careful check to make sure everyone is safe and warm and well and loved.
