Biography
A man who has dealt with both sides of luck at an early age, Silas is one to hold in high regard. Born to nobles, his life was to be decided before him; he was to be a politician like his father, influencing the country and keeping people at each other's throats while he remained out of it, only benefitting from the high-stakes drama. However, these plans were left up to fate when both parents embarked on a trip, leaving their young, prodigial son in charge of the manor. They never returned.
For a time, he kept up the charade of following their wishes, but he grew restless; political life was not for him, even if he quite enjoyed solving the mystery of what made each person tick. He would have been content becoming a scholar, were it not for one small incident where he learned of his true power; the ability to poison people with a touch, without regard for immunity. A lethal touch left him a worried young man, but one who knew just what he could do. Packing only the necessities, several books, and the clothes on his back, he abandoned the manor, never to return in good faith.
Silas was no more. In his place remained Cobra, the ruthless bounty hunter. None knew of his true identity, for he hid it well and struck suddenly like his namesake; political figures and wealthy folk, one and the same, fell with ease to bread and wine poisoned with a compound unknown to man. He collected his bounties, and some time later, would often kill those who contracted him in much the same way, or with a knife, to spice it up a slight bit. This left no trace of him; he struck in secret and took out those who knew of their involvement with him. He was truly free.
Until the Shadow struck. This man, the Shadow, he had many names; but the simplest was best. In the dead of night, he would dispose of targets with a flick of the wrist, as if they were bound and struck down. Naturally, two men wanted each other dead, and assigned two bounty hunters to target one another.
And so they dueled. On the Shadow's near-deathbed, he threw a single strike; this was the strike that decimated the Cobra's right eye, leaving him half-blinded. Out of this battle, though, the two gained a respect for one another and their skills... and they decided to work together, out of that respect.
They became friends. And, despite how guarded both were, they became partners. Lovers.
Silas has since begun to cease his battles, now killing only when running low on money; this is a rare occurrence given the savings from years of living off of the bare minimum, in a picturesque house in the woods. Despite it being boarded up, it's full of love and life inside, covered in plants both toxic and safe. His hobbies include reading (primarily mythology and history), botany, and mixing drinks.
Despite his somewhat cruel nature, he's quite kind to those in need, and often willing to lend a hand- for a price.
