Biography

--The Shaman--
A young, freshly hatched little mirror earned the name Enya from the one who hatched her, Nuri, who died in a horrible accident that claimed the lair only a few days after she was hatched. Nuri, who was slowly dying, rasped out her name(which meant 'little fire') and gave her her copper necklace (And the rest of her clothing) as something to remember her by. ArcidGale took over raising her from there, saddened by his mate's loss.

She grew up with a permanent limp--her front left leg had been injured badly in the attack. Her wings had been crushed under debris, and even after healing, they refused to grow properly. Her muscles did not form correctly, and the bones were too badly shattered. Due to this, she is completely incapable of flight.

Due to the injuries that impede her movement, she usually travels with an escort to keep her safe.

One early morning, Enya escaped the lair without an escort, which was a surprise. Due to her constant entrapment inside the lair, she quickly grew disoriented and became lost. A dragon, once from their clan, found her and kidnapped her, taking her into the Scarred Wasteland in hopes of angering Shadowblood into retaliating. But for some odd reason, Enya started to feel some compassion for Cassite, though she wasn't entirely sure why...

Due to an infected wound, patterns appeared on her scales and wings.

Enya and Cassite fell in love and had three healthy girls--Enya was insanely proud of the children she had.

Shortly after her children grew up she was taken by Necros, far from the clan territory. He forced her to mate after rebreaking her lame leg, ripping fairly deep wounds in her sides and wing membrane. The children were abandoned when Necros fled but Cassite took one of the children to raise, while the others were sent to another Plague clan to train to become warriors.

---
Just after the 2015 Riot of Rot, Enya found out that her mate and one of her children disappeared and haven't been seen since. She is wracked with sadness and refuses to leave her place in the healer's den, even while her daughter Schism goes on dangerous searches for them.

Mate: None

There was a time when Enya had family and flight and freedom, a time when she was very young. She was hatched by a dragon named Nuri, showered in love and affection from the start, and all signs pointed to a happy, healthy childhood ahead.

But then her clan was attacked, and she lost everything. Nuri perished in the wreckage, using her dying breaths to called her daughter's name, to pass on the heirloom necklace she always wore. She saved Enya from the first wave of the attack, kept her safe in that moment, but the moment she died, Enya was vulnerable.

The raiding party brought the clan down around her, and in the process, she was crushed. Her left foreleg was broken by falling timbers, snapped brutally, and the remaining debris pulverized her wings, irreparably damaging the bone structure. Arcidgale saved her from the wreckage before she could perish, but for a while, she wished she had never been saved. The healing process could hardly be called that, not when her leg healed at a painfully crooked angle and her wings were lacerated beyond repair. Flight was ripped from her, as was the ability to run. At best, she moved through the clan in a shambling manner, always with an escort who could protect her from dangers she could no longer combat.

It made her bitter for a while. She had known fun and freedom, and the longing to race with other dragons, to fly and dive and sprint, tugged at her heartstrings so hard she swore they'd snap. It wasn't fair, and though she knew full well the universe didn't have to be fair, it didn't ease the sting.

Full of anger, righteously and perhaps foolishly so, she slipped away from the clan one night, intended to have a moment herself, a moment when she could pretend she wasn't fragile, a moment with no one hovering over her, fretting over her health. It was meant to be good for her, a breath of fresh night air, but instead, she stumbled into more bad luck.

Why the raiding party kidnapped her, she still cannot understand. What ransom they thought they could earn from her was unclear. Regardless, they took her away from the Tangled Wood and brought her all the way to the Scarred Wasteland. There, she had the misfortune of suffering all manner of diseases, not strong enough to fight them off, but also the joy of meeting Cassite.

He made her feel whole again, cared for her in a gentle way that wasn't patronizing, like she was used to. His heart was warm, genuinely so, and together, they had three children that deserved all the love in Enya's first. Somehow, the kidnapping had spiraled into a good thing, especially after no one had come to rescue her. She had been given free reign if she could survive, the ultimate test of worthiness in the Plaguebringer's domain, and once she had, life had been better.

Not that it was to last. From then on, she entered another spiral, losing Cassite and her children when a rival clan stole her away, tore her to pieces, left her to rot. She was sure she would perish after that, left alone among the bones and boiling pools of rot with no strength to provide for herself. Fate intervened, of course, bringing her to Clan Dark-Blood, but she had no hope for a future anywhere near as bright as the one she'd hope for with Cassite.

Thankfully, Haemon has started to bring her hope again. She didn't trust him at first, but after learning that there is warmth behind his frightening mask and keen eyes, she has come to enjoy his company, especially since his healing arts have changed everything. He went out of his way, never asking a thing from her, to see her recover some semblance of the pain-free life she'd had so briefly as a hatchling. Failure after failure stood in the way, but finally, the breakthrough arrived and changed everything.

Now a Skydancer with full range of movement, including flight, Enya has become incredibly close to Haemon, a feat few have achieved. She fears nothing, not even his wicked smile, because it becomes soft and warm when he gives it to her. He even reminds her a little of Arcidgale, whom she misses dearly in spite of the way he used to worry over her. Haemon has helped her into a new, glorious chapter of her life, and she can never express her gratitude enough. He's made her happy again, and it's the greatest gift she could ever ask for besides recovering Cassite and her lost children.

Maybe she'll find her mate again someday, or at least learn his fate. She certainly hopes so; closure would be a relief. But until then, she's happy to travel at Haemon's side, ready to see the world under her own power, with a friend at her side instead of a worried nurse.
