Her father was a powerful clan leader of the Scarred Wasteland. The clan he used to lead, the Letumis Court, was full of fierce warriors and healers. She wishes to pursue her father's footsteps in being a powerful warrior, wanting to protect her mother, who remains crippled and cannot defend herself well. Shadowblood used to allow them to go to the Court to visit Cassite, with the only condition that they would return home.

Schism wished to grow strong enough, like her father, so she could hunt Necros and Hemlock down, and punish them for everything they did to her mother and her clan.

Sometime after they had returned home, the allied clan had been attacked. Their carrier requesting help had been intercepted, and word never came. Schism and her clan was led to believe that Cassite had been lost, and no one knew where he was. Sometime after Schism began searching for him on her own, Apricitas, one of Schism's sisters, came to her and told her the truth. Cassite had perished in the enemy attack, leaving both Enya and Schism grieving.

Soon after grief passed, fury took its place. Wanting revenge, Schism went on a search to find her original targets. She was ambushed by them far from home. Had a wandering Mirror not been near, Schism would have died out in the Scarred Wasteland. The Mirror that saved her, Huntress, offered to help her, and teach her how to fight better. Taking her help, the hunt resumed for her two targets, Necros and Hemlock.

With the help of Huntress and a small collection of other hunters, Necros and Hemlock were eradicated, leaving her thirst for revenge sated.
