PERIDOT
Great and Lovable |

B I O G R A P H Y
Peridot is all too eager to make suggestions, but many a dragon has learned the hard way that she'll happily act on her ideas if challenged or permitted. She enjoys rubbing her accomplishments in the faces of her naysayers, especially if she was able to get something done all by herself. She is still a tiny and stubborn thing, however, and will often find herself needing to be rescued from her own hubris. Once back to safety she doesn't seem fazed by the ordeal, instead immediately returning to work sometimes leading to her needing saving all over again. No one is certain why Peridot seeks validation from the leader so obsessively, nor why Heulwen hasn't installed a Peridot-proof charm on her door, but the coatl will often be trailing behind or waddling beside the leader during those rare times when she's not in everyone's business. When she's actually praised she doesn't know what to do with herself, blushing and getting too shy to speak properly. One time she was rendered speechless for a full week after Lady Heulwen patted her on the head and congratulated her on a job well done after she pointed out and suggested a simple yet effective solution to a problem that would have led to serious structural instability in most of the clan's buildings. She was often seen burying her face in her paws, fluttering her wings and swooning. |

Peridot's suggestions for the clan tend to be based on data and cold logic, leading to some rather intrusive suggestions. She isn't shy about suggesting dragons be more meticulous with their hygiene, stop "frivolous" spending, or spending...er, "close" time with one's mate. She's even suggested optimal pairings based upon color range, family lines, and genetics without even blinking, citing how hatchlings from such parents would be profitable for the clan. Despite being so shameless similar comments directed at her are met with hesitance and a quiet, hasty retreat. She has been made aware of how uncomfortable this can make dragons, having been on the receiving end herself now, so she is trying to make an effort to tone it down. It's "Peri-doh" not "Peri-dot," something she will insist on, though a few close friends are able to get away with the latter and she's even accepted it as a nickname of sorts--albeit one not everyone is allowed to use. An effective deterrent from those who see her coming and who she does not consider a close friend is to greet her incorrectly, often prompting her to huff and turn aside. Clan courier Chyst earned her lifelong scorn after hailing her with "Hey, Greenie!" Despite the annoyance she causes and how blunt she can be, it's common knowledge that Peridot only wants the best for her clan, and truly does care about making it a better place to live for all her clanmates. |
