Biography

Lore
The leader of the Amazons, a tribe of female skydancers (all with at least two matching colours, but most of them are XXX) they each get a title after an important feat they performed in the tribe. Her title is “the lightning grace”- she received this title after being reported to have dodged and weaved through a hail of arrows in the air with such tact and grace that she could supposedly dodge even strikes of lightning
.•*•.
As a hatchling, she always felt a greater calling, and a particular attachment to the sky. Her siblings were similar to her in looks alone, and by “greater calling” they thought she meant fighting for the Stormcatcher, but she felt differently. She would rather fight for dragons than some far off god. Her mother was only around up until she hatched, but according to her father she was rather caring, and incredibly skilled, he would lament about how she could weave the skies with her wings and command the cold with her soft voice.
.•*•.
By the time Trine and her siblings were into their adolescence, they were being pressured into making the decision of being exalted and fighting for the Stormcatcher by the rest of her clan. There was one particular evening, a ball was being held, to “honour the strong” a grand occasion, as this didn’t happen often. There were countless attempts by foolish potential suitors to court her, but she managed to dodge and get out of them. The relentless nature of them drained her mentally, but that’s when the worst thing of all happened, the music was stopped and a toast was called by the leader of the clan.
“Here’s to all the brave souls who have volunteered to fight for the glory of the Stormcatcher!”
Cheers were heard all around, as her 4 siblings stepped out from behind the clan leader. The realisation hit her like a load of bricks, she’d never see any of her brothers or sister again. Tears welled up in her eyes as she charged out, parting the crowd.
.•*•.
A few minutes later, she was up in the sky, silver tears trailing behind her, the setting sun reflecting on her ice like gems. The dragons of her age weren’t allowed to go out after dark, in fear of the creatures in the night, but she barely took note or cared.
.•*•.
Hours later, deep into the night, her wings began to tire, her continually pushing them after such exhaustion at the ball had taken their toll, she needed to land. Cautiously, she strafed downwards, landing in a forest rather roughly, tumbling in to a ditch, shrubs growing wildly in it, a large oak tree looming over her. She peaked behind it, disorientated, a strange glow ran in the distance, frantic, she could make out a creature attached to the twisted cyan flames, it was vaguely int he shape of a dog, with a skull for a head, it looked rather emaciated, sporting a thin body and red eyes that emitted a glow. This was what she’d later learn was called a Wraith-Hound.
.•*•.
Something followed after the hound, a strange creature, a much larger one followed the dog “you better be on those damn skydancers’ scents” it growled. It spoke like a cross between a beast and a dragon, it half looked like one from a distance, with branch like horns, fur, and a thick mane. It’s wings were small and didn’t look capable of flight. The hound stopped, and began slowly making its way towards a still hidden Trine, smelling the blood. The strange dragon was much closer now, and she could make out it’s features better, it had a skull for a face and a skeletal pattern all down it’s body, she could make out it’s colours now, and the fact that it looked male. The one thing that stuck with her, however, were it’s glowing red eyes that almost met with her’s.
.•*•.
A dragon of the same species, this time female, and with shards of a strange crystal material, and a completely different set of colours quickly bolted towards the large sinister dragon that had just about found her “Commander! There’s a patrol headed to our location, they outnumber us severely!” The large male, apparently a commander of sorts snarled “Fine! We shall retreat, we almost caught that antlered kid they have and you should know it will be classed as your fault if we can’t capture her” the two dragons ran off, the hound taking a moment to look at Trine before bolting off, following it’s master.
.•*•.
After desperately battling with herself to stay awake in case anything else came to attack her, she couldn’t hold on anymore and passed out. In the morning, she woke up bandaged in a camp, her head was still spinning, but she tried to stand up. As much as she tried, the young dragon had no energy, or at least not enough to get up unaided, she looked around, seeing golden rays shine through the mouth of a small cave, peering out, she could see she was in some sort of camp, deep in the forest, vines were draped from tall trees, from the outside it would look rather camouflaged.
.•*•.
“She’s awake” a female voice behind her said, it was unlike that female dragon that had informed that commander of the patrol, but by now she has accepted she had been taken prisoner. Trine slowly looked around, further into the cave, only to see another Skydancer, with some leather armour on, it had a lot of pouches. “Don’t over-exert yourself, that was quite a nasty fall you endured” a dragon followed up, another female Skydancer. “...Where am I..?” Trine asked, still groggy.
.•*•.
The two female Skydancers looked almost surprised at her speaking so soon, to be fair to them, she did look like the type that would stay silent in fear, instead of beginning to ask questions. “Camp...” another female Skydancer lying next to her, covered in a bandage. This dragon lying next to her had antlers, and was an earthy moss colour with a sand dollar filagree. One of the two Skydancer watching over the two of them rushed over to her, “Are you feeling okay Raindrop?” she asked them. To clarify what this “Raindrop” person said, the other caretaker padded up to Trine “Welcome to our camp, I’ll give you a bit of a tour when you’re properly patched up and you’ve got some energy back.” she tilted her head to inquire about what this dragon was saying “Sorry for skipping the introductions, I’m Valley, I’ll be your mentor” the dragon half chuckled.
.•*•.
Valley was inspecting Trine’s wings for damage, “So, what happened?” she asked intently. “Well... umm, you see...” Trine stammered. “It’s okay, take your time.” Valley replied, focusing particularly on her left wing. “Well, I came from a large clan and I had 4 siblings. Last night a ball was being held to ‘honour the strong’” she quivered slightly, but forced herself to continue “It was revealed there that they had all agreed to be exalted. I flew away, originally just to clear my head but I didn’t realise how much time had passed, I was already drained of energy and I’d been flying for hours... I tried to land but I crashed into a ditch in the woods.” She looked over to see the other adult dragon curled up around Raindrop, checking they weren’t listening in before continuing “There was a savage animal kept as a familiar and strange dragons covered in fur that looked like ancient beasts, these were no Tundras...”
.•*•.
This seemed to catch Valley’s attention, “do you remember anything about those dragons?” She asked, Trine replying with the truth “only one thing still haunts me about the main one, one more thing that I can remember, these glowing, red eyes...”
.•*•.
Valley quickly finished bandaging Trine’s wing “A few breaks, but it’ll heal... do you need anything”
“Well... I am quite hungry...” she began, her mentor nodding and walking off to go get her some food. She looked to Raindrop, who was having a few bandages removed, the dragon seeing to them scolding the antlered Skydancer for “leaving camp and getting caught in one of those snares!”
