|| Background
The first memories Yorihime has are of sand and scrub. They were hatched in a clan, somewhere, but they were barely out of the egg before they were smuggled out of whatever lair had been their place of birth. The dragons who took care of the hatchling weren't their family— just one of the many travelling wanderers who roamed the ever-shifting Charged Barrens. Similarly, Yorihime was hatched a wanderer, handed off from group to group, growing up part of a million families and simultaneously part of none. By the time they were a teenager, Yorihime knew that every dragon in the world had to fend for themself, and they were a master of such.

Because they grew up out on the dunes, much of Yorihime's childhood was spent exploring and digging in the sand. Naturally a quiet and thoughtful sort, they eschewed playing with any other young dragon they might be staying with and instead elected to search the desert for anything they could. In doing this, Yorihime ended up stumbling across a great deal of ruins and antiquities, buried and forgotten. They began to collect them, and soon realized that others had an eye for them too. Before they knew it, Yorihime had entered a business of trading and selling antiquities, and soon became known for the quality of their collection.

However, the Lightning Flight was focused on innovating the future, not preserving the past, and it soon became obvious to them that if they wanted to pursue their career, they would have to leave the Shifting Expanse. At first, Yorihime decided to go to Lanternlea Port, but before they could the Bounty of the Elements reawakened Luminax and caused a huge insurgence in the amount of artifacts dredged up by the emperor, which wasn't much good for business. So they changed their plans, and made a long journey to the Starfall Isles, their second choice for a good place to sell.

Originally, Yorihime planned to travel to the Astrolodome to set up shop in a clan there, but fate had other plans. A surprise meteor shower pushed them off-course, and they were forced to shelter in Rara Avis until it passed. While there, Yorihime found the clan surprisingly welcoming, as well as small enough to be comfortable to them, as they weren't used to many dragons in one place. By the time the weather cleared up, Yorihime elected to stay, and set up shop alongside the clan mage.

Yorihime is still rather reserved, especially amongst the exuberant citizens of Rara Avis, but they feel welcome in the clan anyway, as the residents know to give them their privacy. Artifacts from Arcane are much different than the ones they were used to finding in the desert, but not all of their passion is driven by a desire for money, and they have recently begun to take great joy in a genuine interest in history.

Still, one day Yorihime knows they'll leave— or, barring that, bring someone home. They did not leave the Shifting Expanse free of attachments, and there is someone there waiting for them; someone who they send letters nearly every week, and someone who has their heart wholly and completely.

◈ No one in Rara Avis knows of her existence, but Camael is Yorihime's lover, and the one they left behind. They are still deeply in love with her, and know that one day they'll return to her, no matter how long it takes.
◈ Yorihime is notoriously frugal, and when pressed, say they simply enjoy having money. This is not entirely true— privately, they dream of having enough to make a place where they and Camael can live in safety.
◈ Flytrap is a construct that Yorihime dug out of the Charged Barrens when they were barely a teen. After cleaning the creeper up, they managed to fix it and have kept it running ever since with their surprising skill with robotics.
◈ Some of the relics Yorihime sells in their shop are not that old... but no one really needs to know that, do they?
◈ The book that Yorihime keeps on their hip is a ledger as well as a personal journal. They don't let anyone read it for any reason.
◈ Yorihime couldn't give a tailwag about the Stormcatcher, despite growing up in his domain. They don't harbor any real distaste for the god, however— merely indifference.
