|| BackgroundHatched in Murkbarrow Close, Callisto spent her childhood surrounded by hundreds of lairs and hovels, almost entirely in the dark. Though the tangled alleyways were not necessarily unwelcoming, Callisto didn't take long to realize her favorite part of living there was how dark it was, allowing her to see the stars more clearly. She spent hours climbing up the treacherous architecture of Murkbarrow in order to get a better look at the night sky. This habit ended up causing great consternation to her parents, who had already lost Callisto's younger sister not long after her hatching and were overprotective of the two children they had left.
Because her parents were so intent on protecting her, and she could only study the stars through risk, Callisto ended up shy and reserved as well as distrustful of her family, who discouraged her passions. This ended up festering into a genuine divide between her and her family; she even fell out of favor with her older sister, who sided with her parents on their issues. When Callisto felt her Search calling her, she did not hesitate to take her leave, and immediately traveled to the Starfall Isles where her desire to stargaze was encouraged and supported.
After finding her Charge— her familiar, who she luckily happened upon very quickly— Callisto made her way to the Astrolodome, where she felt comfortable surrounded by a tightly-knit city. There, she sought to learn from masters in the craft, many of whom were impressed by her enthusiasm to learn. She quickly became somewhat respected amongst them, eager to prove her worth and able to back it up with diligence and skill.
Eventually, though, news came to the Astrolodome of a small clan who had experienced something very unusual during the recent eclipse. Most dismissed it, but Callisto looked into the matter further, and found herself fascinated— a dragon born from a meteor, seemingly influenced by the cosmos above. It soon consumed her thoughts and, driven by curiosity, Callisto chartered a trip to the clan in question. She arrived in Rara Avis not too long later, ready to study.
|| CurrentStarstone is the dragon that drew Callisto to Rara Avis, and he is why she continues to stay. The Fae is a mystery that Callisto is eager to solve, and one she can never seem to unravel. Thankfully, she has also found a place tracking the star patterns above the crater, as well as a genuine friendship with the clan prophet, who she shares a workspace with. The two are rather reclusive, and get along very well.
Still, with her continued interaction with the mysterious Starstone increasing, Callisto has found herself fascinated with her for reasons other than simple scientific curiosity. The fluttering in her heart is definitely unprofessional though, and Starstone doesn't seem to know or respond to any affections she may be harboring, so it seems to her like a moot point. Still, there's no harm in spending time with them, no matter how she may feel.

|| Notes◈ Andromeda, Callisto's familiar, is also her Charge, and she found her during a meteor shower while traveling to the Astrolodome. She genuinely thinks the fairy octopus is adorable, and eagerly shows her to anyone she considers a friend.
◈ Callisto has not contacted her family in many years, and is unaware of their status, which she is fine with.
◈ The necklace and cuffs Callisto wears were a gift from a fellow scholar during her time in the Astrolodome, and she treasures them beyond words.
◈ Callisto is in her mid-twenties.
◈ She identified as male throughout her time in the Tangled Wood, and only came out as female after she had moved to the Starfall Isles. She also changed her name during this time, both given and surname. Her family is unaware of this, mostly because she never bothered or even wants to tell them.
