|| BackgroundHalindor hatched in Lanternlea Port, born into the business of service. Both of her parents ran a bustling café space in the heart of the city, an extremely popular restaurant that kept them busy nearly every hour of the day. They were not uncaring, but had little time to devote to their children— and they had many. Halindor was only one of a large crowd, and yet she was the only one who stuck around for any length of time to learn her parents' trade.
By the time she had her first flight, Halindor knew the ins and outs of running the café like the back of her claws. Her tired parents, who had been running it for many years, were more than happy to see the possibility of an heir to their craft, and didn't take long to leave her everything when they passed. Her father went first, then her mother, and Halindor, suddenly now dealing with it all herself, was swamped.
She struggled for a long time trying to keep the restaurant afloat, unable to make contact with her dozens of siblings scattered across Sornieth for help, and eventually it simply became too much. Not long before the Bounty of the Elements, Halindor shuttered her doors and elected to leave Lanternlea, and the Sunbeam Ruins, forever. She ended up trekking across Sornieth, finding herself in the Starfall Isles bidden by only curiosity.
Eventually, though, while she was staying briefly at an older clan in the Starwood Strand, Halindor felt the urge to settle down properly again, and take up her old trade on her own terms. She received news of a fledgling clan in the Crystalspine Reaches that had just come into some good fortune, ripe for new business opportunities. Taking the plunge, she traveled to Rara Avis, and indeed found a place for a tavern there; and this time, she didn't have to do it alone.
|| CurrentUsed to her business and her trade, Halindor can come off as abrasive at first to strangers, but is genuinely devoted and caring. She is sharply sarcastic, but does her work with a practiced hand and great confidence. She's not even afraid to use her trademark bellwhip to silence a loud room or stop a potential fight. Among Rara Avis, Halindor is known to be trustworthy and honorable, if hard to get along with.
Having settled here, and now with a series of coworkers under her belt, life has gotten much more manageable for Halindor, and she no longer feels crushed by expectation and can really get into her element, which is running the Golden Rose as a tight ship. She's more than happy to stay where she is for as long as she's needed.

|| Notes◈ Halindor's hide and patterning are entirely natural, and the result of a random genetic mutation that hasn't occurred in any of her siblings. It makes her scales somewhat more sensitive, and she is prone to sunburn.
◈ Lucretia is Halindor's longterm paramour, and they have been in a relationship for a handful of years. They are explicitly not romantically interested in each other, and are friends with benefits only, even when they're over letters like they are now. Halindor briefly stayed with them while she was travelling.
◈ Barista is Halindor's familiar and is practically a pesudo-employee of the Golden Rose on her own. The mith is considered a friend by Halindor, and cannot speak draconic, instead, she keeps records and inventory at the tavern.
◈ The teapot that Halindor carries is a heirloom that was on display at her parents' café. She kept it through her travels and it is only used for her personal meals.
◈ Halindor came out as female when she was fairly young, a little after her nestmates left the café. Her parents were supportive, although parts of the transition were rough with a few old regulars not cottoning on right away.
◈ Though they were born years and many nests apart, through complete chance Halindor managed to reconnect to her older brother Kinshiro despite having never met when he arrived with his mates and a dragon that had visited the Golden Rose once before. Their relationship was rocky at first— with Halindor holding somewhat of a grudge from when she had to run the café herself with no help— but they have since become far more friendly with each other.
