  • As far back as Antara cares to remember it's been just him and Rifate against the world, with his younger, more innocent brother shielded under his wing. His brother is his priority, and he's a tad...overprotective, to the point he hovers when he isn't working and scares others away. He knows his presence does this, but in his mind he's protecting Rifate and it's better than letting people walk all over his brother and hurt him. His biggest fear is failing in protecting his little brother and getting him killed, if that were to happen, Antara would surely loose sight on his own future in his grief. Unknown to him, in pushing everyone else away he's become dependent on Rifate's presence and on being needed by him.
  • As all members of the guard are, he's a very intimidating figure and carries a rather frightening reputation. His skill in battle is only matched by his Lord and his fellow guardsmen. While they work together almost every day, Antara isn't fond of Venecus and Garuda. Venecus is arguably the closest to him personality wise, which isn't a good thing, and Antara is certain Garuda is hiding something unsavory from both the guard and their Lord. He doesn't interact much with Euron and Yokunei besides passing reports and patrol switches, so they're tolerated.
  • On the other hand, Antara has a great respect for his Lord, Viatix, as most dwellers of Luncarta do. But unlike the rest of the city, he has seen the Lord in battle first hand, so he knows exactly what he is capable of. On top of that, he is impressed by how easily Viatix seems to rule his city. He refuses to acknowledge he might idolize him a little, but he very well might.
  • It is difficult for him to relax and be more open when he's not on the job, he's almost just as harsh and gruff, but when he's around Rifate he at least makes an attempt to soften his voice and stop frowning, he tries to converse with him, but he just can't do it as easily as Rifate seems to...
  • He has a somewhat complicated relationship with Ihaka and her...accomplice Riorden. Ihaka can at the very least get herself out of situations most of the time, but if he's being frank (which he always is), Riorden is a mess. He isn't worried perse, but he is convinced one of these days he isn't going to be able to get to them before Ihaka gets the younger Spiral killed or in irreversible trouble trying to break open the wrong case. He finds it unbearably irritating that they're always trying to get into someone's business, looking for even a speck of dirt, and even more so that he's always the one tasked with shooing them off.
