Existence

Much like his grandmother, Hoara -- or perhaps, more like his ancestor, Naomi, the Glitch Queen -- there's a sort of unnerving void of expression about Einros, and when he does emote, it tends to be through gestures (such as a tilt of the head) or in his voice rather than with his face. His face tends to be strangely blank, and though he has a voice, Einros does not speak. Sometimes, he makes sounds (which sound vaguely like moaning) but never actual words.

That said, he can communicate through the Shade's hive mind, just as Hoara does. He can also communicate to others telepathically, if he thinks to and/or wants to. However, when Einros communicates in these ways, his "voice" is distorted, reverberating strongly, and even causing the recipient's vision to distort in a similar manner, as though the sound waves are causing their vision to ripple - this is largely due to accidentally putting too much force into his projection. This effect is unintentional but often unnerving for the recipient.

Einros can also create short, personal wormholes, not that these last long enough to be observable, themselves. Rather, it looks like he's teleported a short ways as he's moving in one direction or another. This "warping" has a maximum range of five times his length, and though it is not impeded by barriers, Einros often chooses not to jump to somewhere he can't see.

Generally speaking, he doesn't have very strong opinions. However, after Einros hatched, he sought out his father, who had already left his mother, two elder sisters (Evelyn and Ebony), and himself behind. Through his connections with the Shade, Einros could tell that the one who could best help him get a handle on his powers -- and on life as a Gaolitchshade -- was his father. As such, the Shade helped Einros find Regis. As exasperated as he was with the task, Regis grudgingly agreed to look after and train his son. In the process, Einros met Hoara. He was surprised to find how much he had in common with her, both in how they communicated and in their general mild feeling of emotion. Ironically, this led to a strengthening of their bond. The two are actually quite close now as a result of it, and they have positive feelings towards one another.

Purpose

During his time living with his father, aunt (Ashnyra) and grandmother (Hoara), Einros honed his abilities. His father's primary focus was on spreading the Shade, which was something he instilled in Ashnyra as well, though she was a little more reluctant to actively pursue the goal. Likewise, despite their bond, Hoara was focused primarily on her own diversions. As such, after a time of guidance, Einros began to connect to the Shade more and more on his own.

He didn't feel the same pull towards populating Gaolitchshades as his father or grandmother. The Shade didn't guide him to that goal. It was curious. And so he swam deeper into the hivemind, seeking out how he was to advance the Shade's supremacy.

During his journey through the hive mind, his consciousness touched upon and flowed through that of many others'. He knew their thoughts and feelings as though they were his own. He sympathized with them as though their hurts and loves were felt by him directly. The frustration of trying to convert Shadetouched dragons who continuously resisted, the agony of lost love, the joy of a newly-freed Shade piece after having been contained for so long... He felt all of it. And he was felt by all of it. There were no secrets and there was no condemnation between any of them. After all, they were all one and the same. They were all, collectively, the Shade. One mass. One mind. One heart. Just, spread out in different places in space. And when one was caught and imprisoned somehow, it was like a piece of themselves were sectioned off from them... It was tragic.

That line of thinking took Einros' consciousness to the Shade's memories and current experiences involving the Icewarden and his Gaolers. Relentlessly pursued, trapped, encased in ice, and guarded -- kept away from themselves. Even now, with the emergence, Gaolers of the Seeker Order hunted them down, seeking to ensnare and put down the Shade, piece by piece.

Einros bore his fangs and a low growl rumbled in his projection's throat as he saw first-hand Shade pieces being caught and incased, and witnessed the Shade pieces' struggle against the Gaolers. He even saw the memories of Shiv's Shade piece: his ancestor. It had grown patient, wise, and shrewd as it waited in captivity. His mind entered into that of Shadetouched Seeker Gaolers, and he almost spitefully ravaged their memories, taking their training as Seekers for himself.

By the time his mind returned to his body, he had no doubts about his purpose. He had, through the Shade's hive mind, collected the training and knowledge he needed to achieve it. He would become a Seeker Gaoler... Seeking those of the Seeker Order, and fighting them off, preventing them from seizing any more Shade pieces. He would not spread the Shade -- not as his primary purpose. Instead, he would protect it -- he would protect it with all the vengeance and malice felt towards the Gaolers by any piece of Shade to have ever felt the bite of their ice.
